(this is the easy part)

- Because We are SU but they are LSU. Our last ranked team was in 2001, when we ranked #14. Since then we are tied for 97th in the country in winning percentage with Washington State with 61-97-0. LSU, over the same period, has the 5th best winning percentage in the country at 133-38-0. They’ve been in the top 25 ten times, the top 10 six times and won two national championships, (and neither of those teams were as good as their 2011 team that failed to win the title only because they were made to play Alabama twice).

- That’s going to tell at every position. See, as you watch this game, how many positons you’d kept our guy if Monte Hall offered you our guy vs. switching him with their guy, or even his back-up. It would have been interesting to see their ’58 national champions play our ’59 national champions. I’ve always felt we’d have had the edge as we were an integrated team, (with Ernie Dais, among others), and they weren’t. Those days are long gone and they get the cream of the crop of football players from the section of the country that loves the sport the most and plays it the best. This is going to be like Liverpool playing the best high school team in Florida or Texas.

- We are actually starting a 5th string QB against the #8 team in the country. It’s going to be four quarters of three and outs. It’s too bad we aren’t at full strength but we’d be decided underdogs even if we were.

- We are going to keep punting the ball to a team that has Leonard Fournette, a 6-1 230 pound battering ram who can take it the distance, especially when we get tired as the game progresses. We might be hitting him with enthusiasm at the begging to show him we aren’t intimidated. But he and his offensive line will start winning the battles and by larger and larger margins. On a pass, the defensive line gets to attack the offense. On a run the offensive line attacks the defense. The side being attacked will tire first. That’s us.

- I know LSU hasn’t passed much and they have an ‘inexperinced’ quarterback, (not as inexperienced as our guys will be, though). But with the defense concentrating on Fournette Brandon Harris will just have to fade back and lob the ball to one of their speedy receivers and they’ll be in the4 end zone. They’ll make it look easy, like they were playing catch in their back yard.

- I would feel better if this was one of our better defenses but it isn’t. We lost 8 starters from las year’s 26th ranked group, plus two linemen who were expected to start but became unavailable due to injuries and academic reasons. Then we lost our #1 recruit. It shows. We don’t tackle well. We don’t take good angles. We don’t cover receivers well. Our guys can learn to do those things and get better but not by Noon tomorrow.

- They won’t look past a 3-0 team. We might have had a better chance to win this game if we’d lost to Central Michigan, as we lost to Rutgers in 1984 before beating Nebraska.

- It won’t matter how much noise we make. The Tigers play in the place where they invented noise.

Fine write up, sir.
