Why No

Relish any chance can get a W and walk out of dome happy. Either way this biggest game of season because it is the next game.

If we score one more point than them, the mods will have to put a pot of coffee on and do some finger exercises.

Dungey will probably play 2 or 3 series.
He'll play the first half...guy needs work on passing
DeVito will play maybe one series on the first half and all the 3rd Q Rex will get some work too, Amie/Welch???

I didnt realize my discussing Wagner has the slightest bit to do with the outcome of the game. I assume the team is focused on the upcoming game though.
You sad, poor fool! Games are decided here, amongst fans, not on the field. We’re the 13th man.

(The 12th man are the fans in the stadium)

We should beat Wagner easily- that's why we scheduled them. But I hate seeing 66-0 type predictions. That sets the bar too high. Just take control and don't let them off the hook, win comfortably and don't get anyone hurt.

This Wagner team is probably a better one than we saw back in 2013, when we won 54-0. That team went 3-8 and were out-scored 182-366, including a 17-52 loss to Central Connecticut. They've been up and down since, going 7-4, 1-10, 6-5 and 4-7. This is expected to be more of an "up" year. From my Football preview:

"Last year the Seahawks were 4-7. They actually played Western Michigan – and lost 14-49. Nunes: “The offense returns its leading rusher and passer, and the offensive line actually has quite a bit of veteran talent as well. Three of the top five pass-catchers also return...quarterback Luke Massei completed 58.4 percent of his throws for 1,371 yards and seven touchdowns (versus eight interceptions). The Seahawks had five different players catch 19 or more passes, but none had more than 33 -- D’Erren Wilson, who had 392 yards and two scores as well. The run game was a little more capable, however. Ryan Fulse had 1,306 rushing yards (averaged six per carry) and 12 touchdowns.”

“Defensively, Wagner allowed 27.6 points per game, but didn’t necessarily get run over while doing it. The Seahawks forced 24 turnovers (not bad), and generated a significant pass rush, with 34 sacks. Linebacker Quintin Hampton was the star of the defense, notching 82 tackles while collecting seven sacks and 12 total tackles for loss. Fellow LB Cameron Gill led the team with 11 sacks. Five other players had at least three sacks apiece….The Seahawks return all three linebackers, who were the top tacklers on the team in 2017 — something that on its own could put them among the top teams in the NEC standings. Along with those players, Santoni Graham is also back to provide additional linebacker depth. Wagner’s two best defensive backs — Sterling Lowry and Tyamonee Johnson -- return as well.”

You don't want to over-estimate Wagner - they don't play on our level and they are hardly dominant where they are. But let's not dismiss them either or assume all we have to do is show up. I hope the players are fully focused on beating them. If your goal is 66-0, you're probably not going to get there.

Holy Cross in 1958 was not an "FCS school". They are now. But then they were an eastenr Independent, more a MAC-level team:

Holy Cross Historical Scores

They were even in the 1946 Orange Bowl.

1958 was the last time SU lost to a school that is now in FCS. We have never lost to an FCS team.

Sounds like the team received a stern message last week about concentration and keeping your foot on the throat of an opponent that's down. I would guess they'll show this week that heard it loud and clear.

Hopefully that message was also understood by HCDB.

Wagner is hoping to score 10 and keep Syracuse under 60.

There's not much to discuss this week except where the ball's going to be spread around to for the Orange.

In all seriousness, they lost some talent last year. They've got a QB in Hall that can throw it all over the yard and run a bit too. They'll probably score a couple of tuddies. Good opportunity to sharpen up in as many areas as possible.
Not gonna say I told you so... but... I TOLD YOU SO!!!

I eat crow when necessary too, just wanted to take this W.

Everyone who was concerned about this game can pick up their man card at the FSU tailgate. You dropped them last year while leaving the BC game.
