- Too bad we dropped the Maryland and NC State games because we are beginning to get people back. Our line will resemble what we started the season with, not that tape and chewing gum bunch that got pancaked against the Wolfpack. AJ Long is back and could have a big game vs. the Pitt defense, which rang up some good stats early but seems to have fallen apart.
- Coach Shafer compared Pitt this year with James Connor to Boston College last year with Andre Williams, who we stuffed last year (29 yards in 9 carries) on our way to a bowl game. I think our defense is better this year.
- We’ve done pretty well in recent year playing conference teams on the road, beating South Florida, West Virginia, Cincinnati and Rutgers in 2010, South Florida in 2012 and NC State and Maryland last year. We haven’t been an exceptional home team. The location of the game doesn’t seem to matter much.
- The last two games between these schools have been 14-13 and 16-17. Why would this one be any different?
- No games are meaningless. The players on this Syracuse are sick of losing and if they can’t go to a bowl, how about taking down somebody else’s dreams? They will play to win.
