Had a minor impact on the game, aside from slowing it down a bit. I was thinking the board should come up with a name for the affliction that defensive players suffer that keeps popping up as the Orange offense begins to march down the field. After 4 home games, what we are seeing is more than a few isolated issues. This is a disease. A couple of thoughts:

Dino's Disease
I grabba something u grabba some rest
Chronic OITNF syndrome

Don't forget to take into account that they're not playing two hand touch out there.

It's 200-240 pound kids running into each other at high speeds.

Oh and another thing, us running up and down the feild will make some kids cramp up.

Two thirds were fake.

That was the stupid Pitt contingent booing. We laughed at them thinking we'd have an OL go down to slow their defense.

One of them was pretty loud (I want to say McGloster's injury, 4th quarter). But given how loud the Pitt band was on TV, I think the microphone must have been located pretty close to them.

Washington State doesn't have that problem. Baylor in their heyday didn't have that problem. Just have to execute better and get the best athletes like BU did at one point.

Quite possibly. But guarantee not all of them are.

Anyways, at least they're not as obvious/egregious as what the NYG did.

see Iowa St v OSU today
see Syracuse v VTECH last year
see Baylor v a lot of better opponents
Still works to beat the big boys, even if the other team does shady things with fake injuries

Bees is right. It was the Pitt fans returning the favor (very idiotically so since one of them was on our offense - McGloster)

I have a suggestion for a rule change.

Any time a player goes down, requires medical assistance and leaves the field, he may not return to the field during the current drive. Stay out for a drive, not a play or two.
It would help, problem is people with legit injuries will try to hide them perhaps

I said this during that drive that seemed like they had 3 guys go down after each play.

My buddy and I talked about this . We watched which players went down and when they returned to the field. Amazingly, it was only a couple of plays! Go figure!

I've been saying this forever. Seeing that it's in the best interest of the player to get proper medical assistance and some time to recover you'd think it could get some traction, but due to limited teams running fast paced offense not enough noise unfortunately.

The other issue is , the referre stands over the ball ...forever! Allows the defense to sub in. Why?

too parts to this.. one I dont think any of those were fake injuries.. no reason to fake one every 3-4 plays. Two I think many of them in the old days would have gotten off the field, but there is no reason to they way the game is played today.. I do think they need to re-think the rule of what happens when you get injured as far as how long you need to stay out

My first reaction was that the guys going down were fake and it was an attempt to slow down the game and steal the tempo, especially when you see the same guys walking off the field and re-entering the game on the next play. Then I realized that it was probably close to 100 degrees in the dome (according to the announcers) and was an advantage for us because Pitt was not used to playing under these conditions. But I think that the fake injuries/slow down was probably true most of the time.

Solution: With more and more teams going with the up tempo game, there will be more and more teams going for the "fake injuries/slow down" game. I think that a measured response by the rules committee is that if a person does the "fake injury" ploy, they should have to stay out of the game during the remainder of the current drive. If they are truly hurt, they shouldn't re-enter the game right away anyway. What do ya'll think?

I hate the booing. Perhaps the other team is faking it, but you have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, boo obvious flops, but I think booing is generally pretty classless.

No, some of our fans boo'd during our injuries when they initially thought the game stopped due to a Pitt injury.
