Thanks to my lovely GF, here is an interesting article on "ESPN's campaign" to smear Jamies. The article does make some interesting points about him not going to the SEC. Although, he has not helped himself at all and I believe FSU has covered things up.

On a side note:
Did y'all ever feel like the are way better for us than we are for them?
She also left me chocolate chip M@M cookies at the door wrapped in one of her jackets so they were warm when I got home from class. Thanks hun!

"Or maybe he really is “dumb as a box of rocks” as has been suggested by multiple “respected” media personalities. (Which if true would support our position of SEC recruiting standards since Winston was heavily recruited by much of the SEC before spurning them to choose Florida State.) Much like his Heisman predecessor Johnny “Football” Manziel, Winston is showing us all why freshmen should no longer be allowed to win the Heisman. "

Yep... dumb as a box of rocks sums it up.

FSU should be the game the ladies of Cuse step up and taunt the living heck out of Winston.

ESPN has like 16 channels most of which have no new content about 50%-75% of the time. If they want to make any money they need to figure out how to drive eyeballs to their content when there are no live sporting events going on so they can generate advertising revenue. The best way to do this in this day and age is by covering a controversy involving a high profile sports figure or issue. As a result ESPN has turned from covering the news to making the news by going after issues like Winston cursing and blowing them all out of proportion. In some cases like the Ped State scandal and the Ray Rice/AP stuff this is a good thing for society but in many cases like Winston or the Bernie Fine crap this can be a really bad thing. Either way ESPN doesn't care as it leads to eyeballs on their content both on TV and digitally which means more money in their pocket.

Winston is the first returning Heisman trophy winner that I know of that makes everyone around him look dumber, and I am not talking about the players.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Jimbo is to be fired after the feds get done investigating this case.

I hate SEC with a passion, but I think the blogger is reaching on this one.

"Nothing Winston has done up to this point (sexual promiscuity, squirrel hunting with BB guns, sneaking soda from a fountain with buddies, taking crab legs from a grocery store “hookup”, or yelling out an obscene phrase from a popular internet meme) could be considered “criminal mischief” for the average 18-19 year old kid."

ESPN did not force Winston to do any of these things. Further, following the Ray Rice assault, the outrage machine has been in full force. This was partially fueled by ESPN (which has a big stake in the success of the NFL) and its personalities trying to one up each other as to who was the most offended and angry. Following that and the discussion in the media about how football players treat woman (albeit NFL players), Winston, who has been accused of rape in the past, yells out, ":eek:ck her in her p:eek:ssy." Winston as one of the most, if not most, famous college player has now played right into the discussion.

The blogger also seems to ignore that ESPN is getting into bed with the ACC as well, so under his/her logic, should be protecting Winston, not harming him.
