My father graduated from SU in 1950. He said that they would "raid" each other's campus the night before the games. If his fraternity caught someone from Colgate, they would shave an S on their head and Colgate would respond in kind. After the heads were shaved, the victims were compensated with food and alcohol and everyone was happy.
