We have a tame fan base. Check out some southern teams message boards after a loss.

I am always amazed when someone seems to believe that the SU fan base is somehow unique or when someone thinks a coach would pass on a lucrative job offer here based on the behavior of our fan base.

Exactly and try sucking for 15 years and see what is left of a fan base. The fans just want a chance to win, entertainment, much like Saturday. Do you think the overall fan base cares what scheme you run? They want big plays, they want big stops, they want a team they can believe in, not constant losing. Who the can blame them? I will say this, the next coach better figure out how to do more with less on offense because I don't see us ever getting enough talent to compete with the top of the ACC straight up.

A 4-5 game run in 2012 isn't going to revive a fan base. A few wins on the roads in 2010 isn't either because every time the fans showed up in 2010 we laid a serious egg. 2013 with Marrone would have been as close we have been to getting over the hump.. but we will never know

there is not "still enough people", there are basically the same number of people. the team is bad, and has been so people don't go. if the team wins, people will go, it is very simple. there are no over-arcing points to be made about population or jobs or carrier or any of the other anecdotal nonsense that you guys try to bring up. there is only one reason people don't go to games, bad football.
