Made this thread to discuss the Syracuse wide receivers and who will start and get snaps and who will break out
I think eman Ross will break out and make 3rd team all ACC and I think Ross Simmons will show out as well give me your predictors as well .

Hopefully he doesn’t brawl out. Last I knew he is on a short leash
I think Fran is going to get him eight I expect him to be WR 1 next year to be honest I am excited to see him and Calvin Russell in 2026 but this year he will show everyone why he was a 5 star coming out of HS.

I like E Ross and could see him breaking out. But don’t think he’ll get all acc status unless we get a significant injury at WR as I think he’ll be the 4th option with Gill, JRS and Cook getting starting roles.

And I sure hope Cook doesn’t “brawl” out. I’m hoping he is focused on the straight and narrow this season.

Everything I'm hearing points to JRS, GILL AND COOK as the first group. That said the WR room this year is deeper and more talented from top to bottom than last year. Hatcher, ERoss, and Hornsby will all see time. It's too bad Boobie Johnson is out 5 weeks - he was pushing for a spot with the 2's. He's another Miami Northwestern kid. Let's not forget Demetres Samuel Jr will also get reps at WR.

I really think Eman Ross is set for a breakout this year and could easily lock down that WR2 spot. He’s got the skillset to have a big season, and I can see him becoming a go-to guy in this offense. Losing Boobie Johnson definitely hurts, but that also opens the door for Ross to step up even more. At the same time, I could see him redshirting if the staff wants to manage his snaps, then coming back stronger to compete for major playing time in 2026. And man, that 2026 receiver room is going to be loaded. With Amare Gough and Calvin Russell coming in and both ready to push for early playing time, the competition is only going to make the group better. Now, imagine if Johntay Cook decides to return for another year on top of that — we’re talking about one of the deepest and most talented WR rooms Syracuse has had in a long time. That would be nasty.

I think Eman will break out this year and really end up being WR2 I seee a big year from home and yes Boobie Johnson getting hurt hurts his playing time . I could see him redshirting this year and competing for playing time the year after next 2026 is nasty tho amare Calvin coming in who will push for playing time that room will be even better also imagine if johntay comes back another team MAN oh man that’s nasty.
You should probably proof read your posts before sending.

It's an internet message board, so

thats not entirely accurate.gif

So Gill replaces Pena and Ross, Merks, Cook might be the most talented and is homerun hitter. If the O Linecomes together it cold be another fun year. Hope rhe front 7 on D are solid. We lose a lot ef leadership there.

Last year week 1 we had 1 WR that we hoped could house the ball and OG we thought would be a mismatch. Many were not high on Pena or any others

This year we know Cook can. JRS showed us when healthy he could, and his interview hinted he was only healthy for about 2 quarters all year. Gill showed some glimpses and Ross/Hornsby/Hatcher might all at times show talent. Also, the slot kid who broke his leg is already far more advanced than anyone thought Pena would be in year 4 when he broke out.

How big will the TE drop off be and will we get solid QB play to hit guys when open, it may help the TE that they wont be shading coverage that way.

Honestly Cook might be less consistent than Meeks was last year but much more explosive

I think cook will be up and down this season. But he will also have crazy games this is the first time in his college career where he has a chance to start and have a huge roll . JRS will also be a nice piece who should when snug year with him being fully healthy. EMAN is the X-factor for this offense if he can show his potential this season and have a big year for us.

We have a lot of weapons that will have to be accounted for. I am not a footballologist, but it seems that teams will have to be aware of Cook's speed and have help deep, that should open other guys up. This offense can be dangerous because every guy is a threat, from Willis at RB to all of the receivers. I can't wait to see how Nixon calls plays this year.

The conversation should really be about the o line that’s the make or break for the season.
Definitely, if Angeli gets time, he can deliver. It sounds like we have a better O-line. If that's true, Willis will deliver and Angeli will deliver. I can't wait to see what to see this offense.

Agree plus the Rbs (if staying to block) can catch the ball so he can dump off if he needs to instead of taking off.
