Wide receivers 2025

'all the time'? under Fran Brown and Jeff Nixon? What WR from last year underperformed their 'camp buzz'?
Was it Meeks? or Gadsen? or was it Pena, Gill, maybe Haynes for off field issues and JRS with injuries...but when they were on the field they performed well.
"all the time" is a commentary on our posters, boss

I am serious.

We get camp darlings all the time and then never see them on the field.

I'm not saying that's Cook, but I am asking - is he actually at the top of the depth chart? Has he jumped all of the other WRs to be the #1 guy. Because that's the chatter on the message board, but is that real?
He's a super star talent. Maybe the most talented receiver on the Hill in years. He has gifts that can't be coached. Kids a stud

Boobie will redshirt no way he gets burn after being out for 5 weeks it’s best to redshirt him to be honest.
I agree with you in principle. It would be silly and hurtful to the player to burn a redshirt if he's going to be limited and/or deep in the depth chart. Getting him in for four games and shut him down would be the way to go. It's extremely difficult to get into the two deep as a true freshman, and much harder when missing a bunch of games and recovering from a broken leg.

Not only does it not help the team to waste his redshirt, but it steals a year of NIL earnings and a year of free college from the kid, for no good reason. Most players aren't going to the NFL, but can still earn really good NIL money during their college career. Plus, a free year towards a masters degree is a huge benefit to anybody. Every player that isn't going to get immediate regular playing time is being hurt by having their redshirt burnt.

In the other hand, if Boobie comes back and is still in that top group of receivers getting regular snaps, then the redshirt is irrelevant. Get him out there if he can help the team and progress his career.

I believe there is a report that he is already back running drills in a non-contact jersey. Might be sooner than originally thought.

If they didn’t redshirted JRS last year I don’t know if Fran will use it on boobie

Who doesn't love a Boobie in a red shirt?

As long as it’s only temporary.

I think that is a reasonable question. But I will say this, I don’t think it really matters in Nixon’s offense. You saw last year how we spread the ball around. I fully expect, Cook, Gill and JRS to be our leading receivers. Idk who will be number one by season end but any one of them it could be. Then I’m sure Willis and Nixon will have their fair share of receptions too. In this offense I think you need a true number if you have a free really good receivers, which we have. You’ll be fine

Yeah I'd agree with this. Nixon doesn't seem to be a jam it to one guy kind of OC. He does seem to mix it around.

I know Villari is starting TE with experience and seniority, but I am also wondering if we'll see Tremble used in multiple sets per game as aTE in WR shoes (like Gadsen). If so, could he have a bit of a breakout year??

He's supposedly a reciever TE like Gadsen and FB has had some good things to say about his development this year.

Tremble is a wild card. For sure watching him run the little he was out last year, he just glides around

On this very site, I just dont recall. It was a practice report.
I'm thinking they must have been talking about someone else. I don't see any way he broke a bone in his leg and less than 2 weeks later is already running around.

I just hope he can run around once the season begins. This muscle spasm thing that has him not practicing for a while now baffles me.

He was a 5 star. I'm pretty sure he's in the mix to start.
