Wiggins cancels in-home visits with everyone that isn't Kentucky

No. Kentucky would not lose. And that's bad for everyone

Egos would get in the way. Nine top recruits in a single class plus the returning players who were all top recruits?! Even winning won't keep all those guys happy. There's only one ball and 200 minutes to go around.

I remember years ago going to the FF in Lexington when Georgetown with Ewing and Co. could not lose, especially to a comparatively mediocre team like Villanova in the championship. Guess what? Wildcats won. So, UK Wildcats can lose too.

True, but having a lineup of

1) Harrison
2) Harrison
3) Wiggins
4) Randle
5) Johnson

With Young, Poythress, Cauley off the bench and saying FU to that goon Kyle Wiltjer and everyone else is a darn good team.

I'm not arguing that it is very intimidating on paper, but I don't see how it can work in the real world.

Who are these 5 1st rounders you speak of?

is this a condescending question?

noel
goodwin
cauley-stein
poythress

harrow was considered a potential first rounder before the start of the season and some think wiltjer could still develop into one

I'm just saying I don't see 5 1st rounders.

NBA teams operate fine with close to top players in the sport of basketball on the bench. Those players don't care as long as they get paid in the end.

There is only one ball and only one guy can shoot or dribble at a time. It be nice to have a real facilitator as a PG with all those scorers . . . . . . . . . .

I guess you are right, although Kentucky is going to be facing luxury tax hell pretty soon.

Yep - I sure hope CHEMISTRY is a huge issue for them. I want to hear about all the fighting and arguing about who should be getting the ball, what players only want to play with certain players, how they interact outside the b-ball court, and worst of all who got paid what.

I feel worse for guys like Poythress. He's actually staying and a guy I can still see being a force at the 4 either there or in the NBA. I see lots of Al Horford in him. But yes, it does feel like he's been recruited over. No way Wiggins dosn't get time, imo. I'm sure he's been promised it.

My bad. I meant Wiltjer is getting no playing time.

I've always felt kids get rated higher depending if its one of the darling schools. For example the Wiltjer kid over at Shitucky, 2 questions how was a mcd's all American and does he wear lipstick?

Wiltjer really was a talented HS player. His collegiate transition, though, is probably much like that of our Cooney. It just might take a little time for things to happen for him in games the way they do in practice. Maybe he's being mismanaged. Maybe he chose the wrong environment. But, he wasn't misplaced at #22 coming out of high school.

Practices will likely be more competitive than the entire SEC scehdule (except Florida)

Wiltjer reminds me of Taylor King. He has the tools - good shooter - high bball IQ and nice touch. However because he is limited as an athlete while also being a tweener, he is better suited to either be the guy at a mid major type school or become a specialist. With as many horses as Cal is bringing in - I doubt there will be PT for even a specialist.

If roles were reversed - I don't think I'd be happy rooting for this kind of team. It's like rooting for the Heat. Boring.

Eh. I know that have a crazy amount of talent, but I don't think there are going to be enough basketballs to go around. When they won their last championship, they had a supreme glue-guy in Kidd-Gilchrest, and a very good pass-first PG in Teague. That team in 2012 was built for defense first. Now he's got a dozen guys who all will want to score 30 points a game. Every game is going to be like an AAU game for them.

Do we have the scouting report on all these new kids (because the only kid I've seen play ia Dakari) or are we just assuming since they are all highly touted they are all going to want to shoot a lot? I'll admit i don't know either way.

It would be interesting to see how Cal juggles all of the kids, especially if Wiggins commits

You guys probably don't follow the AAU scene and High School scene closely but Andrew Harrison is more of a pass first PG than any of the recent UK points. His brother Aaron and Julius Randle are the volume scorers. James Young is too to a lesser extent.
