Wildhack Presser 2025-26 Season Opener

I’d love that or Wisconsin. Both would be great. Northwestern would be fine but not a ratings draw. Michigan State would be my other pick.
Like you've said previously, and I agree, it's all about eyeballs. Rutgers doesn't cut it, it would be a fail. Illinois or Wisconsin would be nice.

There are only 3 schools we should schedule in the Big with the current setup in the ACC.
Eyeballs ratings are the only important thing in schedule planning. Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn St are the only close schools that would fit that.
After those schools, the only other is Oregon.

No thank you! Penn State is the only logical choice. No way to the other two. Eye balls are nice, but blow out losses not so much.

So thinking Syracuse and any Big Ten team would be 2029, followed by any year in the 2030s.

Teams with openings those seasons are Northwestern, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Rutgers.

Assuming no other Big 10 wants to play a 11th P4 game except the big 5 (so USC, UO, PSU, UM, OSU are always on the table),

We already travel a ton so I would hope that we are not adding Washington, Oregon, USC, UCLA.

I like playing Rutgers, Maryland, Northwestern but you don't hint for any of those. They are no big deal. Penn State we already have so it is not news.

I am sick of Minnesota, that would be a drag. Same for Purdue. I don't see an appeal to playing Indiana or Iowa. I don't think those do anything for the program or peak the interest of our fans.

I don't think tOSU wants to use their OOC P4 on SU, they play bigger teams. Michigan might as they are rebuilding. Wisconsin we already pulled out, would we go back in?

I think Michigan State would be interesting. Nebraska would be a big deal. Illinois would be ok, but personally I rather see someone else. For me it is a blah add.

  • Illinois: Needs non-conference opponents in 2027 and 2028.
  • Indiana: Needs non-conference opponents in 2027 and 2028.
  • Nebraska: Has open non-conference dates in 2027 and 2028.
  • USC: Has open non-conference dates in 2027 and 2028.
  • UCLA: Has open non-conference dates in 2027 and 2028

Who says we're looking at 27-28.

We could be booking games in the 30's now.

While I like the idea of Wisconsin the most, Nebraska may be the more logical fit given Fran’s relationship with Matt Rhule. Would be a good draw for the Dome and TV. Plus a cool road trip for Syracuse fans.

I remember going to Minnesota for a road game in September 2012, seeing a guy making ice sculptures while tailgating and needing a winter jacket at the game.

As much complaining as people do about Syracuse weather, a lot of Minnesota is brutal.

That's my guess. If the ACC does move toward 9 games (and assuming we keep playing 1 FCS game), we're essentially full until 2030, and potentially would have to drop someone next year if that's the case.

Staying at 8 conference games leaves 1 FBS opening in each of '27, '28 and '29.

No one is, just happened to see and wanted to share.

I'll go back to my corner now.

The kids who will play in this game probably haven't entered high school yet.
