Wildhack retires today

Some personalities don't mesh. Certainly don't want that to be the case with a new AD and a new BB Coach.
Sure, I understand that, not sure it will scare someone off though, especially if they have an idea of who the top candidates are.

I have no idea, my guess is they officially take over when Syverud goes to Michigan, but if the insiders are right and the new chancellor is already at Syracuse. They probably already unofficially started.
Makes sense given Michigan is a dumpster fire right now. KS is prob doin 50/50 so that means our new person can be stsrting here.

I got my eyes on Dan Mullen and enterprise rental car!

my educated guess
John Wildhack was presented with many challenges as SU AD, including coaching transitions, infrastructure issues and the world of NIL.

His renovation of the Dome and his work on the Lally Center are significant achievements. I for one never expected to see the Dome become what it has become.

His decision to hire Fran Brown was an inspired one - it reflected a fundamental calculation that success is rooted in the raw material of talent.

I cannot imagine how challenging it must have been ushering along Jim Boeheim's retirement.

And John Desko's retirement.

The Hillsman situation is still baffling to me - that so few who were close to the program - knew anything about what was happening. He seems to have addressed that situation pretty effectively.

And, he seems to have worked well with the ACC and all of its challenges.

Through all of it, John Wildhack has been a true professional and a very good representative of Syracuse University.

We have been lucky to have him.

And with John Desko's retirement.

Beyond lucky. Here’s hoping he comes back here to post

The facility changes alone are astounding from what we had 10 years ago. Lots and lots of money raised to accomplish what hadn’t been done over multiple decades.
JW is the AD we needed 20 or even 30 years ago. No one gives a damn about facilities now.

If we are equivalent to a 3 star hotel and the next school is 4 stars but we offer $50,000 more in NIL. Guess where he’s more than likely going.

Wildhack took significant risks in hiring a head football and head basketball coach with no head coaching experience. That is unacceptable for a P4 school. Brown had a great first year with a unicorn QB, but this year was a disaster for both football and basketball. Autry needs to be fired this year and the new AD might have a tough decision on Brown after next season if he doesn't win.
