Wildhack retires today

I know you're not saying he should be considered but he's head and shoulders the worst athletic director in division one athletics and there isn't another D1 school in the country at which he would still be employed after the last decade he has had at UMass. It is disgraceful what he has done to the athletic department.

And, from what I have seen up close and heard from people intimately around athletics there, he's really not a great guy on top of it all. He doesn't even deserve a phone call from Syracuse.

McCord was a stud for SU, but he's on his second team in two seasons in the NFL. Let's not throw the term unicorn out there loosely.
His success as the Qb at Syracuse has nothing to do with his success at the NFL level. He was a 4th year transfer from one of the top 2-3 programs in the country who started for Ohio St. The year he had here was phenomenal, no denying that. He was a unicorn because Syracuse will most likely not land that level of QB transfer ever again for a number of reasons. McCord lived up to every bit of the hype and that is very rare

Yes, but it shows you don’t need a first day qb to win dbl digits.

He was what I said, an excellent college qb.

Glad they out Tirico on it, that guy needs a hobby. Just sits around doing nothing all day.
I was just thinking I hope they know he's kind of busy the next couple weeks.

If I missed it previously my apologies. So insiders have shared Haynie is the new Chancellor unofficially. It sounds like our new AD is the guy from West Point but there's now a search committee? Is this one of those things where for optics and let's call it "institutional procedure " a committee was formed but there's an understanding behind the scenes that there is a preference of this West Point guy? So the committee kinda quickly goes through the motions kinda thing OR has there already been a pivot and that is what the committee is for? (Understanding that like recruiting, information can change pretty quickly and perhaps there has been some things behind the scenes happening).
My appreciation in advance for inputs on the above.

I just want to congratulate IHeart on one of the better scoops this old scribe has seen since these whizbang computers landed on The Hill.

Huzzah, huzzah, huzzah!
Whiz-bang of a post, old boy. When I return from Siam by autogyro, I shall wire you my respects personally before boarding my private train car.

He’s just a popular name and candidate to watch. I don’t think it’s a sham committee nor has anyone been hired yet even unofficially. A school should do its diligence on a hire like this. Even if you have a favorite going in, you don’t know what a search turns up.

I’ve been involved with committees and recruiting firms a lot in my day job for executive roles. Firms are valuable in doing a lot of the behind the scenes vetting, reference checks and other stuff.
