Someone leak this to prevent Lyle from getting job? Can’t hire her with this report.. new chancellor would be starting off with real controversy.
721Comstock how did your interview go?
If it had been “leaked” earlier would she even be in consideration? Was it hidden?Someone leak this to prevent Lyle from getting job? Can’t hire her with this report.. new chancellor would be starting off with real controversy.
Sounds like some conflict between chancellor and ADs office. You really have to wonder what Syverud was thinking when he brought her in. Good riddance to both of them!
She has no shot at the job now. Someone clearly is trying to make a statement to the fans by “leaking” this to the do.If it had been “leaked” earlier would she even be in consideration? Was it hidden?
HR "found no evidence of a policy violation or interference in the process,” “We are confident the matter was handled with full objectivity and integrity.”Well they (HR) felt there was something there even if not enough to fire her, and there was some credibility and witnesses to what happened. She had to be "set straight". Not how you want to get the job.
GO ORANGE!I get your point that maybe Wildhack needed some assistance (I'm sure he leaked the info just think it was for more personal reasons and not for the good of Old SU). What I do not understand, and never will, is why that assistance had to come in the form of what may be the most infamous AD of the last 5 years. From DO Article “….directed “employees to disregard instructions given by our department’s top leader” and overstepped “the appropriate boundaries of her role.”
“A staff member from the Office of Human Resources found that there appeared to be “some lack of clarity” about Lyke’s role and authority compared to current Director of Athletics John Wildhack, according to the documents.”
Based on this report it appears John Wildhack has lost control over the athletics department. It does seem strange that John would even agree to bring Lyle into the mix. I bet when Kent hired her it was the beginning of Wildhack’s thinking about retirement. Kent was thinking that Wildhack needed someone with Athletics administrative experience to guide him. Maybe Kent realized what a mess the department was under Hack, What a cluster.
At least we got nice new blue and orange seats and a new dome roof from Wildhack’s tenure? Other achievements under his leadership include a fluke 10 win McCord season from Fran Brown, Jim Boeheim’s son hot lucky shooting propelling us to the sweet 16, and gait making a weak run to the final four only to get embarrassed by Maryland. It has mostly been a failure of leadership and a lack of success since Wildhack has been AD.
I respect who ever leaked this story to Daily Orange. They do not want us to hire that moron, Lyle. I find it hard to believe that the D.O. reporters monitor the university human resource complaints from December 2025 and wait to report it in March right around the time we are interviewing to replace Hack. If the D.O. indeed has a ‘spotlight type’ investigative team my respect level for Funhouse journalism has been raised!
Thanks for letting me ventGO ORANGE!

This wasn't about Wildhack's performance and more of a friend getting another friend a job even when that friend isn't remotely qualified. I'm hoping Haynie clears house at the executive level once Kent is gone. From DO Article “….directed “employees to disregard instructions given by our department’s top leader” and overstepped “the appropriate boundaries of her role.”

Carparelli and Andrew Goodrich
Between this and the new Pitt lawsuit, there is no way SU should come close to making her our AD.
