Will Hop be wired during the nine game suspension

He will not be allowed to have any communications with Hop during, before, after inbetween games. He will be banned from campus, and all activities relating to the team. In other words, go someplace warm and play some golf.

If next year's schedule is like this past year's calendar wise, he'll have on month off. Our first conference game was on Jan 3rd and our ninth was on Feb. 3. I wonder during that time what will become of the Jim Boeheim Radio Show? Will he still appear?

Good practice for Mike...If Hops is too busy...let GMac or Adrian do it.

Speaking of schedule, our ACC schedule has been back-loaded the first 2 years. What are the odds the front half has lots more marquee games next season?

The ACC won't want to do that...

It's not the worst time of year to head south for a month and golf 7 days a week.

If I were him, I'd be thanking the NCAA.

I'm choosing not to worry about Hop. He's been the coach in waiting for a long time, and when he was named I would think most assumed JB would have retired by now.

JB will have a remote controlled cattle prod taped to Mike's back during games. If Hop plays more than 8 guys then JB will discharge the prod.

It may not be as insightful as some are hoping. We'll see if he still plays the good cop or goes more neutral. We'll see if he continues the quick hook for certain players... or benches an untouchable for jacking too many ill-advised 3s. We'll see if he prefers to call a timeout in end-of-game situations... and we'll see if stall ball is still alive and kicking.

But we'll still see 40 minutes of zone with a sprinkling of trunk monkey. It would just be a bad PR move if he decided to do otherwise in just a 9 game stint. If he was given the reins for the entire conference season, then it might be more understandable that he'd want to inject more significant changes.

With technology today, it seems easy to wire up Hop and JB so that Jim could effectively coach from the comfort of his living room during the suspension. He will have the benefit of instant replay too. Wait a minute, we fans already do that now.
Why stop at the game? He could keep the mic in his ear at all times so JB can tell him what to say in tough situations. If it's anything like the movies and TV shows I've seen, the microphone will break and hilarity will ensue.

I like threads where both Breaking Bad and The Wire are mentioned. Maybe someone can buy JB each series as a gift and he can at least learn about buying burner phones, as the NCAA could potentially try to bribe the NSA for a copy of Boeheim's conversations.

Im interested in seeing this too, and how the players respond. I dont think coach Hop has it in him to play bad cop, his energy is way too positive. I dont see him playing a deep bench though (unless we have enough players ready next year).
