Will KU even be favored over the Badgers?

The fact Illinois lost to North Carolina in a 1 vs. 2 matchup in the NC game and Arizona was a 2 seed and lost to Wisconsin yesterday shows KenPom isn't always right.

That doesn't mean he is wrong. Sometimes better teams lose. Yesterday Arizona was 57% to win and Wisconsin was 43%, it is not some shock that they won.

According to KenPom Arizona was the #2 team in the country this year I think it is reasonable to second guess that assessment. Their conference wasn't loaded and they lost 3 games to non-tournament teams. Saying they should have been a 1 seed is one thing, but KenPom's numbers aren't always right.

Should kenpom be right 100% of the time?

Wins and losses are an overrated way of judging a team. Arizona lost to Oregon St by 2 but if they had won by 2 they would have largely played the same game but it wouldn't be mentioned. Through its entire body of work Arizona was a very highly efficient team on both ends of the court one of only two teams in the top 10 in both OE and DE. Most of the other teams grouped behind Arizona were very good at offense or very good at defense, but not both.

If wins and losses are overrated I don't want to hear Kentucky 40-0 makes them an all-time great team. There offensive efficiency is not good. They are the best defensive team in a long time, but their offense is average.

I don't think they are honestly.

They are a good offensive team, they are ranked the #1 defense and the #6 offense. They aren't a great half court team, but it is a lot easier to score when you are running off of your opponents' misses than makes.

Wisc/UK is going to be great. How often do you get the literal #1 offense vs. the #1 defense. Just a remarkable matchup.

And ifKentucky didn't make its final 9 shots, and final 4 free throws, or if Jerian Grant makes a desperation shot at the end, Kentucky isn't moving on either. Survive and advance, everybody who wins a title needs some luck and some times where their opponents screw up. These two teams took advantage
Kentucky's skill made those shots. Wisky had nothing to do with Roy williams sitting on his stool just watching the game.

Did you want Roy to don a pair of tight shorts from back in the day and lace em up? You could downplaying this Wisconsin team. They are going to beat Kentucky straight up.

I don't think 2009 UNC or 08 Kansas are beating this team. Neither does 99 UConn. The duke teams would have been a good game. But UK is pretty good.

Hell, we beat the Uconn team by 17 at Uconn. They had 1 pro. They had a nice run and beat a loaded Duke team, but they certainly don't belong in this conversation in any way shape or form.

All three of those teams beat 2015 uk

Actually I just wanted Roy to coach the game. He let three key trips where his team took terrible shots and no time out. Wisky may beat Kentucky. Has nothing to do with the job Roy did.

Highly skilled or not, how many teams hit 9 shots in a row from the field (and 4 straight FTs) in any one game in a season? There have been tons of great teams in the past, but not many have ever done that to close a game. There is some element of luck involved in accomplishing that feat, I don't think anybody can deny that

Are you being serious?

UK was unbeleivable down the stretch. I don't think there was much luck involved.

How many teams have started the season 38-0?

I hate UK too... but at least acknowledge that they are good.

Dude in not hating on KU, they were great, I'm just saying hitting 9 in a row requires skill and then some breaks/bounces to close out a game.

The three pointers and foul shots were clutch. The Towns layups were no big deal. Brey had to do something to change that dynamic, and he didn't.
