feels like this offense is better for Long as well. how bad is his throwing that he isnt even an option?

I think it's throwing + reps in a new system he hasn't been playing in. Lester said they were trying to fix his throwing motion too.

Last year A. J. was 16 for 27 for 167 yards and 2TDs while running for another 20 yards on 3 carries against the #1 team in the country who beat us 20-38. I'd take that right now. I wonder what Mahoney/Wilson's combined stats will be?

With Dungey back after the Bye week, what difference does it make. Just red-shirt him and call it a day.

Dude's been fighting a broken hand and, from the sounds of things, is still struggling to grip and throw the ball.

It'd be nice to have him as a full option, but I wouldn't count on it just yet.

Could be a long time. I'll let myself out.

It's been a long road back.

Long Duck Dong.

Shafer said he is splitting reps with Wilson and Mahoney this week. I think we will see him under center tomorrow.

Against an sec defense, its going to be pretty ugly.

An SEC defense? Did you See the Auburn play defense this year. Arkansas's defense gave up more points on Defense than what their offense scored on against Toledo and Georgia had like a 100 plays in a row w/o a third down play against S.Carolina and Alabama just gave up 43 points last week. Defense?

Surprised there hasn't been much discussion around this, but it sounded like Shafer said AJ was getting some first team reps, along with Mahoney and Wilson. Is there any chance we see him on the field at all tomorrow?

Who knows... could be, or Shafer could also want to force them to prepare for another QB?

I hope not. I might be in the minority, but I want AJ to take his redshirt this year. He needs to add muscle to protect himself from injury and just to mature.

I hope he doesn't see the field.

Mature? You a close friend of young Mr. Long.

He is a sophomore that has started 5 games. If he can play in this situation, I would take him if things go sideways with Mahoney.

I think the options are Mahoney or Wilson. AJ hasn't fully healed from this injury.. he isn't going to be seeing the field tomorrow.

Maybe you know more, but that's not what the coaches indicated. And if he isn't fully-healed, then he wouldn't be practicing I wouldn't think.

Interesting. A little misinformation coming from the hill. Lester says he is doing well and taking reps. #smokescreen play lol
