I guess I'm just saying that if that were the case, why bother giving him first-team reps? If there's no chance that he's playing, then get as many first-team reps as you can to Mahoney and Wilson.

Probably for the same reason that they gave Mahoney limited reps in camp. The saving grace for him is that he was leading the s cout team.

caught a minute of the coaches show last night and i would swear Shafer said that Long would be available and ready to go tomorrow.

I keep thinking that if Wilson transferred and Kimble stayed, if nothing else, you'd have 5 guys who would all be ready to run the exact same offense. Obviously with varying production. But you wouldn't have to limit anything in practice, like I'm sure they have to do now with Wilson's reps.
