William Kyle Appreciation Thread

Say what you want about Red & his offense, but huge shout out to William Kyle giving us an improbable chance at the end. Those plays were unreal.

Any semblance of an offense & we are a tournament team. Sucks, & no fun to watch.

I’m shocked how poor Kingz has been defensively the last two games. He’s constantly getting beat off the dribble. Their lefty guard chewed him up last night.

He is our best player. Should be playing 35 minutes a game unless in foul trouble

Agreed.

I've stated numerous times that he is our MIP. But I think his consistency and motor have catapulted him into being our MVP, as well.

And this is for a guy who we don't even have to run offensive plays to get the ball.

Stud. I wish everyone on the team played half as hard as Kyle does.

How, in heaven’s name could

he not get much playing time at UCLA?

He was injured for most of the year, from what I understand.

The year prior, he was a high priority lower level transfer prospect, which is how he landed at UCLA.

Kudos to Alex Kline for targeting him, recognizing that he was a diamond in the rough if he could overcome the injury.

he also has no post moves to speak of and cant make free throws...only 6 rebounds against hofstra

I have been here lately only to be extremely negative towards Red because I hate losing and we have had too much losing or just playing down to our opponents.

But William Kyle has been a god damn Diamond in the Rough for us this year. I know the kid hasn't been a great FT shooter and his stroke for it looks as awkward as Charles Barkley Golf Swing or JJ's FT stroke, to be honest. But that's completely acceptable from a NCAA starting Center because the majority of NBA teams have centers that struggle from the FT line, so it is what it is.

This guy has been amazing and if we had somebody like Lampkin from last year starting at Center, you can almost guarantee we have 2 more losses (Tenn, Monmouth) and 1 probable loss(St. Joes), and all of our current loses would have been by a lot more.
