There has to be an issue with this kid - grades? - as I saw his numbers at a recruiting combine for LI kids and he was off-the-charts compared to everyone else there and his 40 time was 4.4. Yet he does not seem to have a lot of offers or options - something does not add up.

Thougt the same thing. Kid is well put together to.

I agree, grades are almost surely a problem. The film on him is really impressive. He is 6'0 185 pounds. Runs with speed and power. No offers that I am aware of. I wonder if they brought him up for a visit to position SU to get him once he gets out of prep school or JUCO?

Who knows, maybe he got a great SAT score and is unexpectedly eligible.

The staff needs a backup plan in case Edwards and/or Laray Smith do not come to Syracuse. Gambil is probably one piece of the puzzle. The new RB coaches son is another factor to be considered. I consider him more of a slot WR/return specialist than a RB though.

I know that, in the past and with mixed success, we've signed guys who we KNEW would not qualify as a measure of our good faith. Most ended up at Milford, which could well be a possibility here. As memory serves, few ever made it here.

Or maybe he's just a diamond in the rough who we've unearthed.

Slashton did...

...but I agree, there seems to be more Andray Baskin's than not...

How many scholarships are available again? We have how many commits and how many available? This stuff is happening so fast I've lost track!

I remember that Coach P had like three of these one year, and at least two of 'em ended up going to Auburn.

As of 9:30 today we have only 4 scholarships left. 65 returning players (counting Barrett), and 16 commits (assuming that nobody else backs out).

14 days to signing day.

Does that account for the transfer of Addazio?

Thank you for that OX! I'd assume there will be 1-3 players backing out...hope 0 but that's the way it flows with a coaching change so it could be 5-8 or so to offer.

ok cool so right now we have 20 scholarships available for August.

What I really liked was the high-quality receptions he made - one-handed, turned-around, over-the shoulder, in traffic. Good for our offense.

But, yeah, looks a little too good to be true to not have more offers.
