Thanks for posting this. I was gonna add this stuff but no one seem to respond to the thread. I figured people weren't excited about him. Glad you guys are seeing what I see. I actually watched highlights of a game. They ran similar plays as us. A lot of zone read option. Our current players would transition well. This guy gets immediate results and has done nothing but absolutely dominate at every level his entire coaching career and he’s completely under the radar & attainable. He doesn't need 4 years to recruit "his guys".
69% winning percentage as college head coach with very large sample size (153-68) who is only 55 years old.
Find me a head coach with a better winning percentage and similar sample size.
Keep in mind didn't inherit any great powerhouse teams like Les Miles.
Georgia Southern Eagles (new to Sun Belt Conference)(2014-present)
Went 8-0 IN CONFERENCE in its TRANSITION YEAR from FCS to FBS (2014)!
No baby steps at all.
He completely dominated FBS talent with smaller, slower FCS talent from day one.
Sam Houston State University Bearkats (Southland Conference)(2010-2013)
Turned a garbage team into the only UNDEFEATED team in FCS by his second year.
Advanced to BACK-TO-BACK FCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP title game appearances in the 3 years he coached there.
Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year (2012)
FCS Coach of the Year (2011)
Central Missouri Mules (Mid-American Conference)(1997-2009)
Won Mid-American Championship
Winningest coach with 97-47 record
Blinn Junior College (1993-1996)
Took a 5-24-1 program and turned it into 39-5-1 program (complete reversal overnight).
2 National Junior College Championships
Inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame
Very good pointsI seriously don't understand why a lot of these other names are being thrown out there. Many of their head coaching records (if they have any head coaching experience at all) range from mediocre to downright horrible. How does anyone rationalize Ogeron?
How do people ignore a guy like Fritz who has accomplished this much as a college head coach and done the impossible over and over? Let's revisit this in 5 years and see how many of those "hot coaches" are still considered hot by then. By the time Fritz is hot, he'll be unattainable like Tom Herman.
I remember when Herman was at Texas State. His offense was unbelievable. This guy is a member of MENSA and it shows on the field. Made me sick when he followed Bailiff to Rice and Texas State promoted another one of Bailiff's assistants to head coach instead. Of course, Herman went to Iowa State where he got noticed by Ohio State and the rest is history.
Likewise, Fritz will get noticed at Iowa State so I'll get to watch another one of my schools waste an opportunity to get this guy.

Thank you for the ongoing updates Mrs. Fritz.Willie Fritz just got the Tulane job. Watch how quickly he turns that absolutely horrid football program into something great.
