There weren’t enough big plays in the games we’ve played for them to be decisive. It’s hard to win if the other team is dominating the incremental but consistent plays, (consistently good rather than occasionally great) Go figure: we are 110-126 on first down runs on offense but 101-65 on second down runs. Defensively we are 110-126 on first down runs but 49-101 on second down runs. I guess defenses are more ready for first down runs and have to think about the pass more on second down. We’re also pretty good at stopping third and fourth down passes, 76-53. Those are two very good downs to dominate. But we are 38-57 against the run on those downs.
