Winston not charged!

Really, even though players have been charged before, by the same police department and prosecutor? On charges both frivolous and serious, including rape? Even though these very sample people charged and have pending right now a rape case against an FSU player that was a MUCH bigger contributor to the team that Winston was at the time this incident happened?

And even though these very same people in the past have charged a Heisman frontrunner in the midst of a national championship run, on an incident that would have been incredibly easier to blow off and didn't have to be charged at all?

I mean, do you have any reason for thinking that in this case, or is it just your general cynicism toward big time college sports?

Good post. I do hope he's innocent because I just hate to think of that crime occurring. But I also think people are just forming their own opinions on this thing without any basis of anything. It's not uncommon I guess.

I think it's pretty obvious that this particular DA knew he was going to lose. That's what people should stop and think about. He's not afraid to prosecute FSU.

I'll chime in Lou - in the court of public opinion he is guilty to those that believe he raped the girl. However, we have to trust the American court system, by the way not perfect but literally the best in the world, and that a DA, probably elected, would be trained and experience enough to do his or her job according to the law. We simply have to trust the system and according to those in charge it is a case of he said she said and that's it - nothing more or nothing less.

So basically you're accusing Winston of rape because other athletes do it?
I didn't accuse him of rape. The woman whose panties contained Winston's swimmers did. I'm sure she's just lying though. So much to gain from that.

She wouldn't be the first girl to lie about it. For reasons as shallow as the guy not calling her back.

He wouldn't be the first athlete to sexually assault a female.

My point is we don't know.

Your point is that we do.

I'm glad those founding fathers set up that annoying legal system. Even if the odds favor your position.

Good for him. It sounded like bunk from the get go.

Somewhere Urban Meyer and the SEC gang are cursing and throwing objects because their plans of foiling FSU's shot at the title and Winston's shot at the Heisman were thwarted. ;)

I listened to Mad Dog a couple of days ago and he all but convicted Winston on his show. Said he would not cast his Heisman ballot for him because of what he did. I hope Russo feels like an ass today.

Sounds like we have lots of eye witnesses from that evening... Wow

Closet watchers forum?

Nah, because Florida State is so football crazy they just tossed rape under the rug so they can win a national title. That's the new media narrative for tomorrow.

And as you read through this thread, you just wonder about the chicken or the egg. Do the fans just believe everything that the media says? Or does the media know that the fans are so quick to judge that they just run with it too. Evidence be damned.

So much wrong with this post. Not once did I say Winston is guilty. What part of "I don't know what happened" do you not understand? I'm with you in hoping that Winston is not a sexual predator getting away with rape. But I'm also not naive enough to think it doesn't happen. And just because charges aren't filed doesn't mean things don't happen despite how wonderful and just our legal system is.

I didn't realize your first post in this thread was just a generalization. I read it as pertaining to this case. So my bad I guess.

I also read your comment about the girl's underwear wrong too.

rrlbees always thinks the accused are guilty.

Wrong twice in one post.

First, I felt Zimmerman was not guilty of the charges. That discussion went on for months.

Second, where did I say Winston was guilty? No place.

Must have missed that Zimmerman thing, but you certainly implied Winston's guilt by suggesting he got off do to money and influence, not that the evidence just was not there.

No, what I said was I didn't know if he did it or not. But that there was no chance he was gonna get charged even if he did.

You all should really read the police docs.

They're readily availability

It's unlikely a crime occurred here

Highly unlikely
