According to ESPN article:
http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebask...reviewing-east-regional-syracuse-vs-wisconsin

Wisconsin doesn’t face a whole lot of zone in the Big Ten, but when the Badgers do, they’re pretty effective against it. So far in the tournament, Wisconsin is shooting 46 percent against zone defense, according to ESPN Stats & Information, including a tournament-best 47 percent from the 3-point arc.

I only saw Vandy play a few minutes of zone while Wisky was trying to run out the clock late, but they didn't look very impressive against it. Then again when we are running the clock out late we normally do the exact same thing...pass the ball around the perimeter and then jack up a 3 with under 5 on the shot clock.

Does anyone have any other stats for Wisky vs Zone defenses this season?

Slow footed guys who are adept passers and love to shoot the 3's. A zone is like their wet dream.

You know, the more I read about how well Wisconsin plays against the zone and how their style of play will win-out over Syracuse's style of play, the more confident I get.

It just seems that their fans - and perhaps their team if they are believing what they read - are taking the Orange a bit too lightly.

Comparing Northwestern zone defense vs. SU zone defense is like comparing Shaq's game to Sean Bradley's

I love it when people compare other teams zones to ours.
Remember when KSU fans said Baylor's zone was better than ours:rolling:

Wouldn't be surprised to see us press them a lot. We have more depth, we're faster, and it allows us to dictate the tempo by not allowing them to settle into their methodical half-court game.

I would press every second that Taylor is not on the court.

If we play zone like we did vs. Notre and Cincy, Wisconsin wins. if we play it the way it should be played, we win.

ND and Cinci were not the only games the zone was suspect leaving outside shooters open. It just happens that those were the only 2 teams that found a great rhythm. With Scoop playing for extended minutes it's more accurately termed a 1-3 zone.

You know what else is interesting? Wisconsin has not played a game all year where the other team played zone the entire game. They've only seen it in spurts. And guess what? It's been team's secondary defense mostly. They haven't played a team that has played zone the whole game, and plays zone as their primary defense, and is very good at it.

Scoop is the worst G by far at the top;
1. Waiters
2. MCW
3. Triche

4. Scoop

Or a 0-3 zone when Dion is too lazy to move 3 feet to his left.

nor seen it on the fourth Thursday of the month. Look out!

So far in the tournament? So against Montana and 3 minutes vs. Vandy, Wisconsin is shooting 46%? Great sample size there, John Nash.
