No. It's not late in the game at all. A lot of kids don't take their OVs until after their football season is over. It's only November 3rd.

What's the range of players that usually turnover before their scholarships are up (whether they transfer, walk with their degree, call it a career early, etc)? Should we expect 1 or 2? Or 5 to 10? I don't follow the numbers closely enough to really know...

Class of 2018 - 2018 Scholarship Rundown (Fishes and Loaves Report) [Updated 10/10/17]

It varies. New coach coming in it can be a higher number because he wants his own kids. Normal year kids are going to leave because they aren't getting the playing time or decide this level of competition isn't for them. The basic rules are you can't have more than 85 scholarship players on the team and a class size is maximum 25. If you look at the fishes and loaves thread OX has listed all the players that will potentially return in 2018.
