With this same exact roster

Boeheim wins this game by 10-15. I don’t want to hear it anymore. The man is in over his head
Boeheim is actually a hall of fame coach regardless of what the new age no it all cuse fans and old head Boeheim haters because he wasn't a personable guy fans think! Autry and Griffin don't hold squat to JB in coaching which is why they shouldn't have been handed the keys!

I think what people might be responding to--or at least what has me so bummed about this team--is that JB, even in his final years, appeared to have *some* plan. It wasn't a plan people liked, for many reasons, but it looked intentional. Red's lineups, substitutions, offense, and defense are all haphazard. I truly can't figure out what he is doing or trying to do. So little of what he does seems responsive to the game.

Good post, that doesn't get swept up in the irrationality.

Red is off to a poor start, and it is concerning.

I don't think even on his last day was even an average coach, he's always been a great coach, the last few years I think he made decisions with his heart and not his head and honestly i don't even fault him for it and as someone who isn't a parent let alone an elderly one, he earned that gift to them and himself.

Did it set us back? Maybe, but they got rid of him and could've been figured out by year 2. The roster was turned over except for 2 players hand picked by Red to lead this team, anyone who knows basketball know you wouldn't ever build a team around JJ and Bell, and the rest, that's not on JB.

It's a big big big mess, but it shouldn't be this bad.
Red hand picked those players because they both had solid seasons last year, and you want to retain your experienced talent when you can. Ask any coach. Having experienced veteran talent is how you win. JB would have made the exact same decision, I can guarantee you that. Red also wanted to keep Maliq, as we all did, but Duke and their unmatched NIL $$ came calling. I’m sure he would have liked to keep Q too if he hadn’t become academically ineligible and a problem in the locker room. Red also doesn’t have the juice and track record yet to attract top portal talent, which seems like the real problem. And I worry that may never come at this point if he can’t prove that he can coach these players up.

Won’t get into details but some of this on a certain player is not true and the whole story

Interesting. I was messaged after the season ended by a knowledgeable insider about that player being a difficult kid to coach and not going to class. The staff clearly wanted that info out there. Not sure who to believe or what’s spin and what’s accurate.
