With win at Pitt

FWIW - I'm 34 and have lived in the south for 5 years now - this is the first time in my life that I've been looking at flights and hotels in Syracuse for potential football games. 6-1, vs NC State is looking really tempting right now...
That's only because your leaves won't need raking until later in the fall. ;)

If the team wins for about five years straight, I'm sure it would have an effect on attendance. Short of that, seeing is believing. This is Syracuse, NY, we're talking about!

Why? Do you think a 7-19 men’s basketball team would draw 27,000 on a Wednesday in February? Win and problem will melt away
That's a different question.

Frankly, I think it's possible that SU basketball would get 27,000 with a crappy team. Win for 40 years straight and the problem will melt away.

No it doesn't take 5 years. It will take a couple years of 8-4 9-3 teams to drive up season tickets. That what we need for the low profile games. If we are 6-1 going in to NC state people will come. Mark it down.

NC State needs to be 45K or more.

NC State could very well be the first time the dome sees two teams in the top 25 since BC in '01 and its a pretty big if but if NC State can knock off Clemson the week before could be for a first place tie in the ACC Atlantic.

Just freaking keep winning and they will come back.

Sidenote I am coming up for the Louisville game on the 9th and bought row tickets in 109 on stubhub for 20 bucks. Feel pretty good about that price now

Hope so! More than that, I hope we're 6-1, whatever the attendance!

6-1 Syracuse hosting NC State with one loss is going to seriously be a candidate for College Gameday.
That game would be at worst a 3:30 kickoff we should get atleast 45k like we did in 2013 for the first ACC home game against Clemson and Shafer’s Meltdown towards Dabo.

I have season tickets and I have had them for a couple years now, almost every game I ask various friends of mine to buy individual tickets and come out for a game and they usually don’t and if they do they are very hesitant. Asked about the UNC and my friends jumped right on it and bought tickets...the tide is changing and people are excited about watching this team!

This is very exciting time!

We need 40 plus for UNC and 45 for state.
Need to push.
( I'm bringing in about 15 extra for UNC)
Its not as hard a sell now.
Get it done !!!!!
Dino clearly mentioned it in presser.

Agreed 5-1 and it's time to step up do whatever they and we can do to reciprocate and get it done. 6-1... I don't think fans or the university will have to try as hard as it will be a solid turnout.

Hate to say it though, lose this weekend and it will be same old same old ands that's what 17 years of losing will do to a fanbase

Yep, cnyers are as fickle as ever, maybe more so.

CNYers are not fickle, they are the opposite. If you give them a good product, as in the Mac and early Pasqua years they will come out, if you give them crappy play they will not. Unfortunately lately its been pretty crappy.
I on the other hand(a CNYer) have had seasons from 1975 on, but I am not typical.

I'm looking at coming from NYC for the NC State game. Lodging is the only problem right now. Depending on the time, I may do a same day flight after the game.

There's absolutely nothing available in the city the weekend of the 26th. If I drove, I wouldn't mind staying out in East Syracuse or by the airport.

Also important, looks like a lot less tickets available on the Ticketmaster map for UNC and NC State than there have been for previous games this season. All positive signs.

No wonder there's not one hotel room available in Syracuse the 26-28th. That's Parents Weekend.

Let's hope so. I'm not convinced.

Yup, this is an upstate, blue collar city with many attractions and destinations in the fall. And a very fickle population (won't use the term fanbase) that doesn't yearn for college football but does like events. Tough sell.
