No. 2 Syracuse women's lacrosse stays unbeaten with tight victory over Connecticut (PS)

Kayla Treanor scored five goals as the No. 2 Syracuse women's lacrosse team squeaked by for a 12-11 win over Connecticut on Wednesday at the Carrier Dome.

Treanor's goal off a free-position shot with 6:07 to play gave the Orange a 12-10 lead but UConn closed the gap with a goal at the 1:17 mark.

Kailah Kempney (Carthage) won the draw control to help secure the victory for SU.

It was the second straight game the Orange held on for a one-goal victory. Syracuse knocked off Virginia 14-13 on Monday.

Halle Majorana had two goals and three assists for Syracuse (5-0) while Kempney chipped in two goals...
