8/26/56 Del Webb and Dan Topping, owners of the New York Yankees. They are the first guests.

Webb made his fortune in home construction after the war and wound up building casinos. he's in the "Gaming Hall of Fame", per Wikipedia. I didn't know there was one.

Dan Topping was heir to a fortune based on the tin industry. He and Webb bought the Yankees from Jacob Ruppert in 1945 and sold them to CBS in 1964, so they owned the team through the period of their greatest success.

If you were at the 1956 World Series, you might have bought a hot dog from Paul Newman:

10/3/56 Paul Newman posed as a hot dog vendor for the first game of the World Series and that was his secret on IGAS that night.
