It works, too. Miss. State damn near took down 'Bama with an aggressive D.Julian was coached up in an aggressive blitzing system.
I understand how he feels.

We took down Clemson with our D
Tampa 2 sucks. See above.Shafer accollates don't like uptempo and the Tampa 2... no surprise here.
Tampa 2 sucks, always will suck, and there isn't a top 25 team that runs it. Didn't beat Clemson running the Tampa 2.
It will always suck. And we won't crack the top 25, ever, with it as a primary scheme.VaTech runs a similar scheme.
All I know is when we lose the Tampa2 sucks and when we win it's pretty good. You've maintained that it sucks which is good for consistency, but not exactly lining up with the facts.

Stretch the field out, throw underneath, and get yards after the catch. And, because the D is usually only rushing 3 or 4, a QB can sit back for hours, or tuck and run (because the middle's open). If SU runs the T2 against Lousiville, they'll unceremoniously hand our taints to us on a rusty hub cap. Jackson will crush it, hard.As I recall, Monte Kiffin, who had invented the Tampa 2 and gained his reputation for it, tried it against the spread in college ball and was unable to stop it.
no one stops the spread unless you're bigger and faster than everyone. we're still in this nfl mentality where we expect 21-17.As I recall, Monte Kiffin, who had invented the Tampa 2 and gained his reputation for it, tried it against the spread in college ball and was unable to stop it.
that's not how I remember wake killing us. it was run pass option run against undisciplined defensive ends and pass against undisciplined safetiesStretch the field out, throw underneath, and get yards after the catch. the tampa 2 is fine if you have safeties who know what they're doing. it's never going to be great, it's going to give up yards, and hopefully create more turnovers. the incompetence we saw on saturday wasn't because of tampa 2, it was because their qb was smart and our guys weren't
defense couldn't afford to lose cordy and they really couldn't afford to lose martin
My last post was how I'd attack if I'm Louisville. Didn't see WF game.that's not how I remember wake killing us. it was run pass option run against undisciplined defensive ends and pass against undisciplined safeties
this game should teach everyone that full pass mode should never be a thing. running doesn't have to slow the game down. when you play fast all the time, you can keep doing what you dono defense works ff the DEs and safeties dont do their jobs well. We started the game fine and got wake into 2nd/3rd and longs all the first half and didnt stop the pass either. If the D had played the first quarter like the did the 2nd we are up 45-10 and wake is forced into full pass mode. That never happened and then the offense fell off the cliff, still if we make the 2 fgs we are ahead well into the 4th and who knows what happens then.
