I like this kid as a reciever. Made some plays in the spring. I know some are sighting fatigue as a reason the offense bogs down but why not give the 2's a run, the wrs. Wr was supposed to be one of the few depth areas. Fresh guys in this offense , even with a few mistakes can still be effective.

watching him run on specials he's fast I can only assume his hands are bad.

Hands are a tad dicey from what I hear. Definitely going to be a contributor with time though.

a receivers hands have to be so bad for me to worry about it. if a guy can get open, that's usually good enough. if we ever recruit well enough where that decides playing time, we'll be in great shape. that first gerg year might've permanently made me only care about getting open

How did you not LOVE Perry Patterson's rifle to a fully covered Tim Lane!!!

I mentioned this in the game thread, thought it was odd that they were redshirting him for a quarter of the season and then threw him onto the field out of the blue in the fifth game. If he can contribute and they don't want to give him a fifth year, cool, but why the change in plans?

Agree, his hands were appauded his frosh year. Was a hs shortstop, good hands, very good athlete, seems as though on offense you have to be near perfect to play, but on defense, its trial by fire.

I noticed him as well, looked a little thicker than last year too, from my memory he really needs to add 15-20 pounds from when he arrived on campus.

Because, screw him? I'm with you. I don't get why you hold him out so long and then burn the redshirt. Either play him or redshirt him. It's not fair to the player. These guys aren't pros and their window to play is too small to jerk them around.

Is it really so hard to assume that they need more bodies on ST so that we don't lose more key players? Injuries are hurting this team. It's not like they did this in game 9 or 10. The kid has a chance to play in 8 games this year. That's significant. My other assumption is that a QB, moved to WR, recruited for a different offense, might not have the tools they are looking for in Dino's offense. The way Dino gives out info maybe it was the plan to play him on ST all year but he's been dinged up a bit, who knows.

How about DB. Wonder how his hips are for cb? Or have him continue to bulk up and put him at safety. Don't need good hands to tackle, plus he's long and can give them so serious speed and athleticism in the defensive backfield.

perhaps a little thing called injuries...

Sheesh

Yeah, you don't let a receiver with terrible hands run wide open. You still cover him.

As did a few others

I believe it. Just remember him being in the middle of the widening gap and picking the wrong side and getting drove out.
