Rooting for Lville and Emily Engster or SC with Cardoso, they suffered under that idiot Hillsman while SYR and Wildhack stuck their heads in the sand
Minor point in the grand scheme but I found it ridiculous that the story was broke by the Athletic while the local media was standing around fiddling their thumbs, see no evil, hear no evil, pathetic by the local media

The margin was more impressive but seeing 4 points at the half make it more crazy in my view.

Yeah that was caught me. Last time I saw a score like that was playing a middle school game where we won like 72 to 9. Seeing that in D1, plus in post season is just wild.

UConn women have a history of doing this, particularly in the first round against overmatched opponents.

Yeah they have a few games they have held opponents to the 20s. Nothing quite like this this one, at least all the way till the end. Geno at least would take his foot off the pedal.

So I watched some of my Mercer Bears play UConn today. Now Susie Gardner has done an amazing job coaching Mercer. We've been competitive in the NCAA before - lost to Georgia by 5 points 2018 and lost to Iowa by 5 points in 2019. So it's not like we're a program that just can't compete. UConn beat us 83-38 today. Our leading scorer hurt her shoulder in the first half, but it was already a forgone conclusion at this point. The gap in the women's game is unreal.

It's so difficult. There is growth in support and interest in the women's game and sports in general but is so marginal from year to year. There really isn't a good fix for it given even men's sports have seen participation regression and interest at the youngest levels , outside of soccer that is.
