.....why we pressed with 38 seconds left and down by 2? Was it because of our low foul trouble? I guess we couldn't let them take 28 seconds off the clock and then they scored.

You do 2 things in my opinion.

1. You foul right away and extend the game.
2. You play it out, hope for a rebound, and work with 9 seconds.

We did not do either. We started in a press, but then started scrambling. which led to that layup. I wasn't really sure what we were doing.

Those last 2 foul shots by Reed were killers. Instead of denying the ball to their best free throw shooter with a 1-1 ...that was bad execution.

I pointed this out in the game thread. His internal math has never quite grasped when to foul to extend a game. Usually way too late.

Gillon fouling when the shot clock was winding down was one of the stupidest plays I've ever seen. At that point, bunker down and hope for a stop. We wasted at least 15 seconds.
