Spot on... I'm frustrated because AAM lost weight in he offseason and is rewarded by riding the pine. That goal line series was brutal. Not sold on Jerome Smith. He is not a North/South runner, which is supposed to be inherent to a big, bruising inside running back. The only more disappointing moment than those two goal line stands was the offensive series that followed them. We went right back and ran PTG up the middle on first down. WHAT THE

I would rather be up by 7pts than 4 pts. Ya know only up 4, a RB could hurdle one guy and then run 70 yards or so for a TD and then you are losing. But what's the odds of that happening, oh wait. Nevermind! The first one... On 4th and 3... He should've kicked. The second one... Come on... You have to be able to get a foot. Problem is Smith is not worthy of getting the ball there.
...or the coach isnt making the right talent evaluation...?BFD, so he lost the some of his excess baby fat. He still needs to lose some more...he's obviously not good enough (yet) if he's not seeing the field ahead of Smith...

As Bill Clinton said... arithmetic! It's simple math, let the math make the decision for you. They were only up 4, take the friggin points!
How do you NOT kick those 2 field goals? THIS IS THE MOMENT Doug decides to grow a pair of balls??!! Are you kidding me! You are at home, WITH THE LEAD and you are turning down more easy points to add onto your lead Kick the friggin field goal.
More bad game day decisions. Thankfully it didn't come back to bite them in the rear
You can't compare, its 2 totally different circumstances. That's OVERTIME! This is a game where you have the lead vs a Div IAA school in regulation, don't monkey around. Take the points. Go up by 7 pts and at worst you are tied if they happen to score. Then next time, you can kick again and be up by 2 scores! That's a bad thing? Instead you go for it twice, fail both times, and are now 1 bad play away from being down! Being up 4 is useless. TAKE THE POINTS!When Marrone kicked the FG in OT against Rutgers ... were you in the "take the easy 3 points" camp, or were you pissed because Marrone didn't go for it on 4th and 1?
...or the coach isnt making the right talent evaluation...?
I doubt that's the case. Coaches see these guys go at it everyday in practice...obviously, AAM hasn't impressed enough.

I was lobbying in the game thread for some sort of deception/misdirection. Straight up the gut was not working...Frankly, Broyld has displayed Delone Carter like ability to get yards when there are none there. Nobody else seems to have that knack. And a swing pass out to either Broyld or PTG would have been much better than running up the gut repeatedly. Yes I'm just a fan. Those are my 2 cents.
Doesn't that show a "lack of confidence" in the team when you pull the offense off the field on 4th and goal from inside the 1?
The very thing Marrone was bashed for last week when he punted against USC.
And the very thing he was bashed for against Rutgers.
If you're afraid to go after 1 freaking yard at home against a 1AA team, you shouldn't be coaching.
No, it is not "becoming a disturbing trend." It has BEEN a disturbing trend. I really really want to like Marrone. I really really want him to be successful. I am one of the few that loved it when he was hired. I'm just waiting for better. It's a good thing for him SU was so much more talented today or they'd have lost. It's really a no brainer...just poor decision making in critical junctures...it's becoming a concerning trend imo...
