Worst implosion in hoops history. Collapse down the regular season stretch, don't show up for your first ACC tourney, NCAA bracket opens up with the potential of playing three double digit seeds into the regional final and you can't beat Dayton in Buffalo?

Lax - horrible showing in first ACC season so far. Plenty of opportunity to right the ship but so far it hasn't been good.

To bad the football program has low keyed it to date, but hope they ramp up the communications the next three weeks and have a great spring game.

Moving opening night to Friday is NOT the way to start... Hope we arent going head to head against B'Ville vs L'Pool

School starts the earliest possible day this fall (September 3). I think the early start last year plus a late Thanksgiving allowed Section III football to start the Friday after the school year started.

I don't know about that, just want the program to continue to develop. 8 wins in the regular season would be a tremendous accomplishment.

Agree. I think Maryland will give us a tougher game, but at least it's at our house (although last year, that kind of felt like a home game in that lifeless stadium).

8 wins is a great accomplishment, 6 wins would feel a little disappointing. 7 wins is probably going to end up as the landing spot, and it's not the end of the world by any means.

First two games of the year will tell a lot. Would like to see this team come out and beat Nova soundly and then take care of business on the road by a few scores against an inferior team. Hope this team doesnt sleep on Nova, game could be a lot closer then it looks on paper.

Worst case scenario 7 wins. 7-5 is a bad season. This year

9 or 10 wins is the next step. I see the opportunity with this years schedule.

If we get 7 or 8 wins, I will still be happy.

As long as we continue to have shots at the postseason and extra practices.

That wouldn't affect the attendance of a Friday night game at the Dome in the least. Friday night games so far have been pretty well attended compared to the alternative Noon/3PM game on Saturday.

Quinta, Wayne, The Coreys, T. Hunt, Marquez, AJ, Donnie Simmons, A. Flemming, McFarland/Morris.

And On And On.

Lots To Look Forward To This Spring!

I love your optimism, but looking at our schedule, where do you see the 8+ wins coming from? We face 5 ranked opponents and finish on the road @Pitt and @BC.

Where do you get 5 ranked opponents, the only 3 will be FSU, Clemson and ND. What other 2 are ranked that I am missing? Everyone else on the schedule is beatable.

I see it like this...We will probably lose one we shouldn't and win one we shouldn't. I think we can go between 9-3 and 8-4.
Nova -W 1-0
Central Michigan -W 2-0
Maryland - W 3-0
ND - L (I think this is a game that is winnable) 3-1
Louisville - W 4-1
FSU - L 4-2
Wake Forest - W 5-2
Clemson - L 5-3
NC State - W 6-3 In the Dome
Duke - W 7-3 In the Dome
Pitt - W 8-3
BC - W 9-3

Villanova, Central Michigan, Maryland, ND OR LOUISVILLE, Wake Forest, Nc State, Duke, Pitt Or Boston College.

I don't care what day the opener is played. It's nice not to see a powerhouse in Week 1 or 2. ND is perfectly placed on the schedule and Ville won't be the same without Charlie & Teddy. Imagine being 5-0 heading into FSU. We're ranked if we beat ND & Ville. The Dome would be rocking.

On the downside, I'm nervous about losing Macky even if all the other OL guys return. But it's nice to have expectations.

I'm really not that doom and gloom. I thought we had a terrific season. It happens. We will be back. We will continue to recruit well and have a chance every year. Another Championship is bound to happen sooner or later because we have kids that can play anywhere. Mix that with Hall of Fame coaching and Great Coaching, I'm honestly optimistic and I'm not just saying that. I'm upset but I got over it easier this year because they made me proud. It happens. Move on to next year.

The football team can win every game they play this year and having FSU here helps me think if there's a will there's a way. I'm not saying they are going to go 14-0 but the talent is there to win all those games depending on taking advantage of certain situations and execution.

Love the optimism, but I'd just like to stay within 3 scores of FSU.

Stay in it early and let them know they are in a game by punching them in the mouth. That game is a lifetime away and SU has to take care of Nova first. Just want the team (players and coaches) to stay healthy and continue to grow.

I think March 1991 could rival it. Melt down in the Big East tournament and then we lose to Richmond with the NCAA investigation looming. Lacrosse did make the final 4 that year though.

Is Clemson going to be that good this year? With Boyd and his top two WR graduating?

If we go 4-0 down the homestretch, my holiday season will be very merry. Especially with the last two coming on the road. But, I agree, they're winnable.

I don't worry much about the 1-AAs, but I'll admit I do worry about them a little more when we head in to them with an 0-2 record. You just never know the mindset of the team after a start like that.

Having it as the first game of the year, I don't worry at all about us overlooking them. Working out the first game kinks can be a problem, but not the effort that we'll see.
