80's: loss to hoyas at manley

90's, loss to ohio in carrier classic in 1998

00's, the 06 loss at DePaul, 108-69
this decade: loss to seton hall at home in 2011

I'd really rather not think about it.

Thanks though - would you mind passing the oranges?

As much as I enjoy self-flagellation, I'm gonna pass this one up.

I reply because I actually enjoy self-flagellation but...
this decade's worst loss was this season's game at G'town

That DePaul game ... they literally did not miss. Forget their FG pct to end the game and whatever it was, they didn't miss.

That's the worst game I have seen the team play since I have been following them.

Does anybody from the pay side know the truth behind that DePaul game? In all seriousness that game just DOES NOT happen unless 3/4 of the team is stoned or pissed at Boeheim and trying to stick it in his face or some damn thing.

I understand, just figured, we have it so good, but what the heck, lets see some of the few bad moments we have had

not nearly as embarrassing as the DePaul loss, but the worst loss for me in the 00's was the loss to Pitt that kept us out of the 2008 tournament.

We were up by 11 with under 4 minutes to go and literally gave the game away in the most gut wrenching fashion. DePaul was way more embarrassing though.

For the 2000's, it has to be the 07 season loss at home where Dnic missed the wide open layup near the end. I think it was against Wichita St or maybe Drexel. That loss kept us out of the tourney (even though we should have been in)

Can't give it to Depaul in 06 because once we got to NYC for the BET, we all know what Gerry did

I've mentioned I've been watching a lot of past games that I have recorded. Funny thing, none are lossed. Geee, I wonder why that is?

Pitt 2008 - not even close. I dont remember walking to the car or driving home from the Dome that day.

Going back many years, almost every loss in 87-88 (Seikaly's sr yr) felt especially frustrating. Team was loaded, and had like 7 losses by an average of 2 points, with an average of about 10 missed FTs in each game, shooting around 50% in many of them.

Paul Harris inbounding failure game?

These are the first ones that cam to my mind. I'm still pissed about that DePaul game. I've never seen a Syracuse team quit like that.
I was at the Dome when Charles Smith hit a layup over Seikely to end the game. That one still burns me, but the Manley game still has to take the cake for the 80's

- Good one. Wichita St. I believe. I was watching that game in Key West and I kid you not it started pouring raining 10 min after and I started crushing drinks with a fury.

- Paul Harris Pitt game.

- @ Villanova this past season. That meltdown pissed me off so much. Had no business losing that. Long term meant nothing but still. I was extremely pissed.

Two more from the 2000s'--2010's that just popped into my head: the loss to lemoyne (**shutters**), and the loss the cleveland state where they hit the 65 footer as time expired (cleve st was a pretty decent team that year, but still..)

Certainly all of the above... and then there were these post season debacles:

The Vermont Catamounts with Tom "Did you know I beat Syracuse" Brennan
The Richmond Spiders ugh!!!!!

Vermont was the worst for me overall. Eastern Michigan was the worst I saw in person

Pitt Hak's senior year at home. Lost by 20. I waited three hours in zero degree weather to get a front row seat in the student section to watch two top ten teams. That's when I knew that team was doing nothing in the tournament despite returning everyone from a sweet 16 team.

Pitt loss 2008 for sure. I thought I was going to vomit

This. I smashed one of my favorite beer Steins in anger/frustration

Or URI that season

Or UMass that season

or ...UMass to end that season.

Good thing Paul Harris was a big part of 6 OT or we would all hate him forever.

I mean, I have never seen any team ever give up 10+ (we were up 22 agains UMass) leads under 5 minutes so many times.

God why did I read this thread...
