The Big 10 will likely have more first round draft picks than the ACC this year. It is not a talentless league,

I'm not arguing that the B10 is not down... or that it as good as the ACC. But you are hating too hard.

Coincidentally, the spread was the same for both games (+10). But I'll say Minny was worse since their rpi is higher, they were 0-13 in league and tied with the NCAA doormat Rutgirls, and as you pointed out, were a 2 or 3 seed in most brackets. And they probably just blew the 2-seed tonight with such a bad loss, as they were the last one anyway going in and MSU has been playing great as of late.

He may be overrated and Maryland is for sure. But, there is no way in hell Uthoff is backing up Roberson, lol. Zero chance. Zero.

All due respect to Tyler, who I like. But when you make statements like that, it makes you look sillier than Uthoff. He would NOT be a backup in any way, shape or form. How many Iowa games have you watched to make that statement? I've seen almost as many Iowa as I have Syracuse.

Turgeon is not a good coach and the Ninja Turtles have too much talent to lose to a team like Minnesota.
Their resume is thin. 1. Iowa-home 2. UConn-MSG, 3. @Wisconsin. 4. Purdue-home

They shouldn't be above a 4 seed if the committee looked at their resume and not their ranking.

Maryland looks like the 2005 Syracuse team. It looked great on paper but didn't exactly light it up on the court. I don't think they will win the B1G tourney either.

Maryland should be a 1 or 2 seed with their talent. I honestly would have them as a 5 seed right now.

A real conference? The Big Ten sent two teams to the Final Four a year ago and could have easily won the NC. This post is silly.

So is this loss to Minnesota without Stone the equivalent of our loss to St. John's w/o JB? Will the committee discount the loss?

I feel that they are close to being on equal ground, with us being w/o JB slightly more of a factor.

I take it you haven't watched much Uthoff, because he is excellent. He can do it all, shoot, slash, score a bit inside, rebound, block shots and is much more athletic than his skinny frame would suggest.

Basically, Uthoff is what we all hope Lydon can grow into.

And to say a star player should be backing up Roberson is ridiculous. Roberson has been AWFUL for a month or so now.

Maryland still has to go play at Purdue and at Indiana to conclude their schedule. I assume they'll win the home games against Michigan and Illinois, but they could easily drop both of those road games.

Could hardly believe how bad MD was last night. The Gophers, scrappy as they were, are a really poor team - and they did whatever they wanted to the turtles for about 30 minutes. If Trimble doesn't get right in a hurry they're gonna flame out big time

It's been renovated here and there over the past 20 or so years. They've done a pretty good job of retaining the classic look/feel while making it safe/accessible/up to code. Gets super loud in there, too - not close to a sellout last night but loud as he11 as the upset became more evident... now they just gotta get a real coach in there (sorry, but lil Ricky ain't it)

I agree about lil Ricky. I never understand when colleges hire a guy after one year, that actually wasn't even THAT spectacular at Florida International. Same deal with Keno Davis at Providence. I'd want to see if a guy can build and sustain something at least over a full recruiting cycle of 4 or 5 years.

Agreed. The previous AD that hired Ricky (and was unceremoniously canned this past summer after his putrid sexual harassment tendencies came to light), Norwood Teague, went gaga over the one season Ricky had at FIU and the name Pitino. Horrible hire, and the buyout is absurd
