Definitely deserved better. Eagles management only cares about being good. Once they're good enough to pretend to compete, they care more about saving money than winning superbowls. They never gave him the help his contemporaries had.

Through many of McNabbs Eagles years I was still bartending In the Adirondacks. Its snowmobile country up there and in the winter MANY people come up from Philly, like hundreds. They were the most racists dirt bags ever. If McNabb was doing good the Eagles were winning in spite of him...If he was struggling he was a "n***** piece of ****". God I hated those idiots...Racist, no football knowledge, morons...I'd mention how I had seen him play for four years cat Syracuse. They didn't know how to comprehend that because half of them didn't know college football existed.

I'm a Bills guy so I have no natural rivalry with the Eagles but Philly fan...all of them.
