That has to be a serious shocker for the Axe family. Very unfortunate.

I used to do business with Axe & Arthur over 20 years ago. I never made the connection that Brent was Doug's kid.

Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Slow deaths tend to be worse for the dying but better for the family, as sad as they are, because they can prepare themselves for it and say goodbye, etc. Sudden deaths are, in a way, better for the deceased but terrible for the family, who can be devastated by them. My heart goes out to Brent and his family. A really tough time for them.

totally agree. My parents were in bad health at the end so it was expected however my brother who was the glue of the family died in a car accident when he was 47. There is no way to recover from that, you just learn how to move on. My sincere condolences to Brent

More bad/sad news. So sorry to read this. Condolences.

What a shock to the family! Everything is going along as per usual, and then BAM! The earth opens up beneath your feet. As several people have commented, this sudden loss will hurt for a long time.

I like Brent's columns and his radio show. He is very even-handed in his reporting and on the air, while at the same he has infectious enthusiasm for all things Orange (and Buffalo, poor sod). My heart goes out to him and his family.

Axe mentioned his Dad in passing on the show last night - before he found out I think. His Dad would tell him how he missed the Joe Morris opening kickoff TD in the Dome (in person) because he was taking a pee. You could sense the fondness a lot of us have for our Dad's and sports with them.

Many prayers for him and his family.
