1st, our only marquee win loses to a horrendous team
2nd, what we thought was a legit big east team LAYS an egg at home to an average SEC team

now we have to ROOT HARD for louisville and conn to be great. and IMO, i dont think either are legit top 10 teams.

Other then those 2, its almost a lose-lose situation going forward for cuse. theoretically we should go undefeated through the reg season, although it is impossible. damned if we do, because its a ridiculously easy schedule***, damned if we dont.

*** i simply dont count Ville as a legit good team... and i have always had my doubts about uconn this season.

This is by far the weakest BE i can remember in the last decade. Or maybe that's just the feeling from the top.

I don't think it matters. The stature of the program right now is such that so long as we keep winning I don't think the opponents matter a great deal. We're going to roll through the season, grab a #1, and then who knows?

Agree the big east is down big time this year, but it dont really matter. If we win the big east regular season with no worse than a 15-3 record we're a lock 1 seed.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. But IMO it doesnt mean we have been tested.

Not good that Florida loses to rutgers ... bad omen, bad for our RPI ... Damn

If we keep winning it won't make any difference what anyone else does.
The BE, UF, or whoever, could go 0-1000 for all I care, as long as we keep winning.

Why do we have to worry about the teams we have played winning? So we can get to number 1 in the country?

We are at a point where we only need to worry about taking care of business.

I have always rooted hard for our fellow Big East teams, it always seemed silly to me to root for rivals to fail when all that does is hurt our SOS and the money our conference (and by extension, us) brings in.

But now that we are leaving the Big East and are number one in the country. I just cant find it in my heart to care what happens to anybody else.

I'm currently rooting for all the other undefeated teams to lose first and foremost. Second, I root for the other one seed contenders to lose. Third I root for teams we may compete against for a Big East title to lose (but this is only in Big East games).

all we need to do is keep on winning... it;ll all fall into place.

Agree 100% on all points.

also want to put it out there... if any team in the country can give up an absolute blow out 22 pt halftime lead on the road against a top 15 team, it would be a kevin stallings coached vandy team.

how that guy still has a job is beyond me. They are chronic underachievers.

haha completely agree. every vandy game i watch they lose, and theyre on espn alot. in the last 3 years this will honestly be the first game they win that i watched.

I agree...doesnt matter. Just keep winning and it will take care of itself.

As March approaches the top teams are judged by the ranked teams they have beaten. Florida is the only OOC team we will have beaten (and played against) that is likely to be ranked. If they are devalued, our resume is devalued. Be assured that our resume will be compared to the other elites like UNC, Duke, OSU, UK, KU to determine who gets the #1 seeds. It helps SU if Florida does well and is highly regarded...so their losing to Butgers is bad news for us.

It's not as if Duke and UNC have been penalized during seasons when they rocked and the rest of the ACC sucked

Flordia will beat kentucky and will be highly regarded all year, theyre a very good team.

I will wait to render a judgement here. The RU win tonight was in many ways an adrenaline win fueled by Rosario's return to NJ. In a way the Marquette loss makes me feel good because they scared me more than the others because we never have an answer for Crowder. OF course, we never had an answer for Pope until last nite.
As far as UConn and 'Ville, I would be concerned with both of them if they were 4-10 right now. UConn starts 4 studs, Kuric always kills us just like Crowder. Reminds me of the days with Owens, Coleman and Sherman. We never had an easy game against Villanova led by the immortal Aaron Bain.

We are #1. Who gives a stuff.
You're right. Now is a good time as any to shed the "a loss is lurking behind every corner" mentality that we have been hardwired over the years to expect.

Who cares. Florida will be right there in the elite 8 fighting for the final 4.

And Beals , who went something like 2 for 39 against us has actually been coming on stronger lately. Young not so much. They are first round draft choices as it stands today, primarily on "upside"
Their guards are the type that could carry a team on their back to at least the Elite 8 by getting hot, and they are upperclassmen. Just what you want out of the backcourt despite Walker's height. Plus they have range up to 27 ft from the rim.
They have the building blocks.

UF had no business going into the RAC anyway. I have no idea why Donovan would even schedule that game. We all know how much better Rutgers is there than they are away. Unfortunately, the rest of the country (media and fans) don't know that.

humble pie. I really believe in this Florida team. They are going to be there at the end.

So nights when we play is the best case scenerio and nights when we are off are the worst. :Djoking.
