I'm not sure there's 100 fans in the entire SMU stadium. It's like a class D high school game in the carrier dome

That is because Dallas had a major ice storm, and temps have not warmed up. Much of the city is virtually closed down. The Dallas Marathon for tomorrow was cancelled since the runners can not run on the ice and the Xmas parade was cancelled.

It's free admission today ... if you could make it through the ice storm.

They had to cancel the basketball game because the other team (Hofstra?) couldn't make it.

The seats were all covered in ice. Surprised anyone is there

Just showed my sons apartment building in the background shot. I couldn't see him though, lol. He does face towards SMU!!

SMU's normal crowd is about 7-18k depending on opponent. If TTech plays at SMU it fills up but with Tech fans.

Kanye had a concert in Dallas last night, too and there were like 50 people there. Everyone got to be up near the stage.

Yeah I'm really surprised how sparse the crowd is.

Looks good for SMU not being bowl eligible, they are down and have their third strung freshman Walk On QB in who just threw a pic on his second throw.

SMU will host No. 15 UCF on Saturday, Dec. 7, for an 11 a.m. football game at Gerald J. Ford Stadium as scheduled and everyone is invited, as the game is now open to the public with tickets not required. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Due to the inclement weather in DFW, there will be additional adjustments from a traditional SMU gameday. These changes include:

For safety reasons, The Boulevard will be closed due to ice and fallen limbs along Bishop Boulevard.
Fans should enter campus via SMU Boulevard.
While credentialed lots will be open and operate as usual, all other usual "cash" lots will be open and free to the public. Signage near campus will direct fans to parking areas.
Fans should enter Ford Stadium via the gates on the west side (Gates 1, 2 & 3).
Gates will open at 9:30 a.m.
Only the west side of Ford Stadium (sections 100-108 & 200-208) will be open for fans, allowing SMU to treat the steps and seats for fan safety and comfort. Please note: While all fans will receive complimentary admission, season ticket holders and other fans who purchased tickets for the game will have first right to their reserved seats. All other seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Suites, Stadium Club and Hall of Champions Club seating will operate as normal.
Discounted hot chocolate and coffee will be available at the concession stands.

There were entire sections in which fans weren't allowed to sit (even if they wanted to) due to safety concerns.

That was not a BCS-worthy team. Helluva job by O'Leary to get them to this point but they don't deserve one of those 10 slots. Bowling Green looked more impressive.

And people want to replace the Carrier Dome with an open air stadium. Idiots.

We would get less than 10k a game in November. A Dome is a must. You couldnt pay me to see a 5-6 SU vs BC last week in the same weather you saw in Dallas today.

Tough to compare those games. Perfect conditions vs. Tundra.
