wow...uconn looks atrocious

UCONN QB has no arm.

Coach P and Deleone running the old run, run, pass, punt offense.

Rutgers does very well in turnover margin. I'd love to see SU develop that trait beginning next week.

Run Run Pass Punt.....

While I was rooting for Rutgers to lose, I actually got heartburn watching UConn play football. Godawful.

this game has been equally as ugly as last night's game

If by ugly, you mean Nassib didn't have the best of games, then I would agree. However, the rest of the game was entertaining with only a couple stupid plays, very few penalties and very good defense on both sides.

Honestly, watching the entire SU Pitt and RU Uconn games fri and sat was like watching JV football compared to watching UT WVa on Sat night.

good golly
The LA Times took Coach P to task for playing McCombs and for his dealings with a struggling OL coming off the field. Don't follow UConn football, didn't see the game but this doesn't sound like the coach we knew at Syracuse.

Link

Also found this link, which OE probably put up at some point, also from the LA Times, that talks about the downfall of Coach P at Syracuse. I expect we will see a bunch of other stories like it when we play UConn in a couple of weeks and Coach P makes his return to the Carrier Dome.

How Coach P Left Syracuse

I think our game will come down to how well we protect the football.

UConn has a very good defense, but if SU loses to them this year I will never forgive the coaching staff.

This season is the perfect manifestation of a P&D coached football team - it's just so awful to watch and so unpleasantly familiar.

Rutgers has some athletes. They or Cincinnati look to be the class of the Big East this year. Now that Schiano is gone I can root for them again. I know that is not a feeling shared by many Orange fans.

To each his own. However, I'm not sure how any true Orange fan could actually/really 'root' for another school, especially one that it competes with from a recruiting standpoint, etc.

I just don't get this type of statement. UT/WVU displayed horrible defense, the second game in a row that WVU's defense has stunk it up, yet they're looked as 2 steps up from SU.

the air raid is the best offense but it's not the best offense to practice against because it's not typical. it might bite you in the a when you play a team who throws to the TE all day (see SU 2011)

the teams with the best defenses might be the ones who practice against the most run of the mill median offense.

if you're loaded everywhere and can get by with a ho hum regular recognizable offense, it might not be worth it to sacrifice the preparation of your defense.

but for everyone else, the offensive benefit is worth the sacrifice of defensive preparedness.
