No kidding. Fran had his eyes on a northeast program. There were only a few he wanted and I’m sure Rutgers and Syracuse were at the top of the list.

Fran’s ability to pivot and be flexible in recruiting is remarkable. Seems like we went in hard to get Gough when it seemed that Douglas was securing Hampton for Oregon.

FWIW, Hampton has the more elite offer list though is only slightly higher ranked than Gough. Not going to dive into the tape, not my wheelhouse lol. But similar size and weight to one another. Hampton runs a 4.49 40. Gough runs a 4.4 40. Interesting tidbit.

It sure seems a lot of these recruits are very close to one another in measurables & that coaching and industry savvy plays the greatest role in getting them to the next level. Fran is all that and more.

Amare took a visit to VT the weekend of the 20th. Not much stated that I have seen and don’t believe he posted any pics to his twitter. They seem to be trying their hardest to flip him. Realy hope he stays strong with SU. Would hate to lose this kid. He’s going to be a stud. And even if we do get Russell, they would compliment each other amazingly well. That would be beautiful to watch.
