Class of 2026 WR Calvin Russell (FL) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (7/5/25)

I do. My confidence has only increased.

All in all, really nobody has a clue. Wiltfong says one thing, Garcia says another, and a bunch of other “insiders” are all saying different things. This recruitment has been remarkable to me.
Because they’re guessing…..but making it seem on social media they aren’t.

I'm no IPA snob, I am just impatient.

This. Also, to not derail the conversation and get yelled at for beer related talk… I’m very glad he’s announcing on a Saturday. When Hampton announced, I was so bummed I left work early and went home to take a nap. This time I’ll probably already be in bed, nursing my hang over.

My birthday is 7/6, I was reluctant to say because of all the 7/7 talk. But, I would consider it a personal gift from Mr. Russell if he chose Syracuse on 7/5.

I said I wasn’t going to get my hopes up, but here we are…..

if we can reel in Calvin, this would be amazing! Not just for the sake of saying we got a 5 star football recruit either. This kid is really legit!

First off, there are not many 6’-5” WR’s out there. And there are none that have the athleticism that Mr Russell has. His senior highlight are only through mid season, so they are somewhat limited. He plays for an excellent team in Miami Northwestern, that has plenty of weapons. But this kid is a physical anomaly. Kids this tall are not supposed to be that fast, explosive, and very elusive. He can make great cuts on his routes as well and appears to have excellent hands. If there is one player I’d say he reminds me of it would be Randy Moss. Maybe he doesn’t have his vertical but at 6’-5” he probably didn't really have to display it against HS DB’s. Obviously he is only going to be a senior in HS, but turning into that type of player seems possible for him. By the way, Randy was only listed at 6’-4” 205 lbs.

Keep in mind Calvin played mostly QB his Sophomore season, so he may have even a little more developmental upside than what is typical. If you really want to get a good look at his true athleticism, also watch his 2023-2024 film as a QB.

Calvin Russell on Hudl

Everything you said is true and is exactly why Calvin is one of the most coveted recruits in the country, because he can do things that the vast majority of people can’t, AND he’s able to do it at a size that so few people can match.

He’s a freak athlete with great ball skills and has every opportunity to be a superstar at the college level.

There’s a reason I’ve been saying for months that this is the number one guy I want in this class.

Why isn’t it Saturday yet? Cmon Calvin commit to Cuse

Can we somehow combine this with Joey Chestnut and the hot dog eating contest?
Only if Calvin Russell (a tall, athletic wide receiver prospect I'd be very excited to have on the Syracuse roster) is actively participating in the hot dog eating contest.

In this article he is quoted as saying he is “just following God”.

Fran does not have a monopoly on godliness for sure but he is surely dedicated to it and could help Calvin in many ways besides football if he is looking for that.

Stop, I still have PTSD from my days of being an admin a Big Brother forum section of a message board.
Fwiw I didn't ever watch Big Brother so have no idea if the show is good, but a bunch of former Big Brother contestants joined The Challenge franchise and I find out a lot of them really unlikable.

And if these are the people that had fans from Big Brother, well...
