For a 6’5” “intermediate” receiver who had around the same amount of catches as TE Dan Villari (And i’m a huge fan of what Dan Villari turned himself into) did in 4 games with Angeli, i’m not as enthused as others.

That may be a good line up in 2 years, but if that’s our offense going into next year i wouldn’t be expecting much of an improvement.

Not sure if it is just confusing wording in your post but Villari had 20 catches in the 4 games with Angeli. Weaver had 45 catches for the year, Villari 39.

Dan was on pace for 60 catches as a TE and i’d label him a possession receiver, which is similar to this commit who had 40 for the entire season, down a level.

Not sure why the Vallari comparisons as Weaver plays a different role entirely. The USC guy is the DV backfill.

Think we use Weaver in the OG role (not saying he will put up OG numbers or be OG 2.0) that we sorely missed. We runs similar routes and works same areas of the feild that OG did 2 seasons ago. I would imagine that's what he's coming in to attempt to be.

Will be interesting to see him play with Russell and any of our tall tight ends. Can go 6'5, 6'5, 6'6+ running patterns at any given time.

Any reason why you left out the two wide receivers that redshirted? Wilfong, who I thought was highly recruited picking Syracuse over Penn State and Tennessee, and the other kid isMcFadden from Philly.
