Class of 2026 WR Darnell Stokes Jr (Del) COMMITTED TO SYRACUSE (3/22/25)

I guess if there is a 105 man roster, 30 of them can be WRs - hope he is a good one.

Tough to take much out of that tape since he's not generally used as a traditional WR.

Tower Hill is a pretty elite private school in northern Delaware. Lotsa DuPont family members have gone there.

As a Delawarean, I'm surprised by the number of First Staters that Fran is recruiting. Perhaps we're an untapped resource?
Did I miss the Tower Hill connection?
Indian River plays downstate in the Henlopen Conference.
I've also been surprised by the number of recruits from Delaware.

Pretty sure they had also offered someone from Tower Hill.

I live in Delaware, and have a pretty good sense of college recruiting here.

You have Salesianum, a Catholic school that recruits from surrounding states and fashions itself after Notre Dame, right down to the gold helmets. We almost never get anybody from there.

You then have the downstate schools, most of them in Sussex County, and they've been most of the focus of our recruitment efforts.

Middletown, which kind-of straddles the line between New Castle and Kent Counties, won the state championship last year, and we have a recruit from there who has committed. Other than the Sussex beach resorts, which appeals primarily to retirees, Middletown has experienced the most growth in Delaware. Some, myself included, would call it 'unfettered development'. The upside?: More students, more athletes.

I'm familiar with the 2 previous Delaware verbals from upstate (Garrett/Middletown and Henriquez/Smyrna), but must have missed the Tower Hill offer.

I agree about Sallies. Their recruiting seems to provide an unfair advantage.

FYI, I've lived in the Delaware beach area for 45 years and agree with you about the unfettered development.

The great thing about wide receivers is that they can become RBs, CBs, SSs, FSs or even LBs if they aren’t able to win the WR job. Fast and tall is helpful at a lot of positions on the football field.

And if rosters do go to 105, you are probably bringing in 35 or more players every year.
