Class of 2018 WR Edward Hendrix (DC) SIGNED NLI to SYRACUSE

[
as soon as the tweet was made I looked at the site and they had 50% with UNC and MD. Now, an hour after the tweet, 3 writers (Ghafir - MD writer, Wilfong and Warren) have picked Orange. I believe Ghafir and Warren changed their picks to CUSE. I'd say that's a good sign.
Man if we get him we are rolling. Serve up a side of White, and then attack that DL hard. And for good measure, throw in that QB from GA and we are looking real good.

Yes, please. Hope that crystal ball is clear on this one...

And not just on Hendrix.

I think SU fans are going to be EXTREMELY happy with how the next 7 Days ir so unfold...

Wow this kid and White will be Orange. These last 2-3 classes have been huge for the foundation of this program. We aren't just getting 4 year players, I would not be surprised to see a few players in these last few classes leave early for the pros they are that good...and potentially high picks. This staff is doing things on the recruiting trail that are pretty damn close to unprecedented here in the recruiting service era.

I like what's going on but they haven't even committed yet and you have them leaving early. This is only a few data points out of hundreds that we need to succeed. Let's have some winning records and go to some bowls before we declare how good our talent is. Too early.

Wish the JUCO OT was the third this week (outside of White & Hendrix). But if those are the only two we get, I'll be extremely happy :)

Terrific post -- agree 100%. This staff is doing an amazing job on the recruiting trail.

agree, imagine what they will do when we start winning? oh my!

Not to dig up past threads, but these are the exact reason why I am so upset/frustrated with the medical disqualification saga. And specifically the Steven Clark situation. This staff is special and has the ability to recruit at a high level, given the resources to do so. Anything detracting from the upward trajectory is a huge problem, because there is such a small margin of error.

If Clark were able to play this year, we have a MUCH better interior DL. And with that, a much better chance to make a bowl game.

As it is, I still think we have a decent chance to make a bowl if we stay healthy. But the margin for error is much slimmer (not that it wasn't before).

If we make a bowl game, then our classes will become that much better. Just stinks that certain factions are holding us back.*

*Please let me be clear about this - whether you blame the team doc who DQ'd Clark after specialists cleared him or the athletic trainer who gave the kid a knee brace that was not the right size - there are some people who are not optimal candidates to be working with a highly competitive D1 football team.

After we get Hendrix and White commits, we'll be the #44 ranked class in the country as it stands now (Composite rankings). This class will be under-rated in the rankings because of limited spots, but is going to be an incredible class. Our average player rating is the highest ever in the modern recruiting era and is being held down a bit by Lutz who I believe will move up the rankings before his senior season ends. No way that kid is a 2 star recruit.

I think this class ends up being bigger than we think it will. We've had unexpected attrition of 3 defensive players - M. Williams, S. Clark and J. Allen - that would have been multi-year players who would have taken up scholarship spots next year. Those spots are now open. Plus, i think there will still be some more attrition after this season in the form of transfers...there always is the first couple of years after a complete system overhaul. We've got 18 spots on the books as open right now, but I think the real number will be around 22, maybe more. I expect us to surprise this year and use that to really take advantage of recruiting during the latter fall months when coaching staffs start getting let go.
