Kids commitments to Fran’s program become public in a pattern like a metronome factory… I think it’s Fran’s way of doing two things:

1) Keeping the hype train going during a kind of boring time in college sports. A commitment every day or every other day keeps us morons glued to the internets, waiting for the next one.

2) The kids announcing their commitments on Fran’s schedule and not their own is his first example to them of DART in practice. Fran, and the coaches are in charge, not the kids.

This premature commitment might be running afoul of the DART philosophy. Or it could be a miscommunication. But this program has very few unforced errors. They really have their program running well. This commitment/not commitment is far from the norm.
