Yeah, this kid seems like the type who wants to go to one of the factory programs.

And while Fran is amazing at what he does, and has a much better story to tell croots than our prior HC's,
at the end of the day, the kids have to want to go to Cuse.

... which him not having an OV set up, kinda alludes to the fact that he prolly doesn't.

Probably true. Or he has already been to SU and wants to make sure he gets the others scheduled first as they are much more difficult to get to. SU is 90 minutes down the road. Maybe he's thinking he should be able to squeeze that in sometime much more easily. But it does seem like he is looking for the very high profile program.

Messiah miraculously moving up the recruiting boards. Went from an 87 to a 90 on 247 puting him at an overall 143 in the composite.

From what I know we have a better chance with Calvin Russell than Hampton.

He is a national recruit now. Too much money is being thrown at him. He might be going to IMG so that will make harder.

Side note. Messiah was out of town for a showcase but his parents still came to the spring game as guests. Father came up to me. I didn’t get a chance to talk to him. Syracuse will be in it until the end but chances are below 40% at this stage.

As long as we Keep Fran and Nixon we will attract very good receivers from our current recruiting areas. You never get them all. Especially don't want to miss our nys targets. I'd be more disappointed missing quality lineman though as they are harder to find imo.

I wouldn’t mind spending extra NIL on local kids like Messiah. You have to keep these kind of high upside locals who are national recruits if we want to even consider playing at a consistently high level we all hope for.

Havent talked to his dad in a while. When I spoke to him this past winter it sounded like he was all about Fran. His face lit up when I mentioned him. He didnt think Penn st or Michigan was a factor. I dont know how Messiah or his parents feel at this point but I know NIL is gonna be a major factor. As it should be. You are not guaranteed tomorrow.

One of the national analysts that is pretty plugged in had us in Messiah’s top 3 (along with Oregon) on a podcast I was listening to from a couple of days ago. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that as it seemed we had lost some steam here with him skyrocketing up the rankings and new big time programs interested.

Imagine what the Florida schools are feeling about Fran going in and potentially getting Calvin Russell and it’s probably similar to how we feel about potentially losing this recruitment. Except Calvin Russell type players come much more frequently in Florida than Messiah Hampton type players in Upstate New York. Just wish we could tell these out of state factories to

Yup. Hard to blame them for that. He will get money no matter where he goes. The life changing money will come from NfL (unless he saves NIl wisely).

Money, I have a question. I assume Fran is working on repairing all the bridges that were burned between the previous high school coaching staff(s) and past staffs at Syracuse. Is the process moving along quicker than you anticipated or is there still a lot of work to do?
