Class of 2022 WR Omari Evans (TX) Portal from PSU/ Visiting

Would be a nice add, definitely an upgrade from Long, nothing personal against him. I hope this kid is ok staying East Coast as opposed to coming back home to Texas
Yeah this is definitely going to be a tough recruitment to win going against Texas Tech which is closer to home and I think I read somewhere a few weeks ago has a LOT of NIL to spend. Watching live at the orange bowl and no I didn’t recognize him specifically, when Penn State wide receivers did get open Allar wasn’t making the throws that night. One thow specifically I remember was he overthrew his receiver on a wide open fade throw to the sideline for 15 yards.

This is a guy you pitch hard on the Jackson Meeks story.

He long jumped 23 feet 11 inches in HS. Freak athlete. Wants a school.that likes to throw the ball.

Believe he is a good blocker. Would be a good fit at Syracuse.
So I wonder if this is a possible "Meeks type " replacement. As soon as you said good blocker that immediately made me think Meeks. One of your WRs needs to be that "physical presence ". Pena, Gill, Ross, Ross Simmons, Zeed don't necessarily fit the profile. That said our WR room is getting deep talent wise and only so many touches. Interesting he is visiting.

OMARI EVANS IN PORTAL FROM PENN STATE

He was an inconsistent contributor, but he showcased his speed — 4.31 seconds in the 40-yard dash — multiple times during the season. In his Penn State career, Evans recorded 30 catches for 564 yards (18.8 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns in 38 games (six starts)

Penn State is moving on from one of its top pass catchers. Omari Evans, who started six games at wide receiver for the Nittany Lions this past season, plans to enter the transfer portal, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported on Tuesday. Evans’ impending departure wouldn’t come as much of a surprise after Penn State added two prominent wide receivers in the transfer portal this cycle.

Looks like we got more company as Tennessee and Washington enter th mix…..
